Action on food (in)security is needed now more than ever. Join the Women’s Centre for a letter writing action where we will discuss the state of Calgary’s food insecurity and write to our elected representatives for stronger food and income supports.

Last Wednesday some of our staff, volunteers and community members went to Rockyview, Alberta to Marianne Disipio’s ranch of solitude, relaxation, learning & soul expression by hanging out with horses all day! 

This was a therapeutic experience for our community and a great way for them to spend time and connect together on a holistic front outside of the Women’s Centre.

June is National Indigenous History Month, a time dedicated to honouring the unique achievements and the history of First Nations, Metis, and Inuit communities across Canada.

We will be hosting some Indigenous-centred events this month, and we hope you can join us.
-Beading Workshop- Monday, June 17th, 5 P.M.-7:30 P.M.
Intro level beading workshop will be led by a Knowledge Keeper.
-Bannock & Tea- Friday, June 21st, 10 A.M- 12 P.M. Conversation about Treaty responsibilities and Indigenous solidarity.
