Erica Rae
Hi, I am Erica – a freelance writer and digital marketer based in Western Canada.
I am trying out Buffer for an article I am writing. So far, it seems to be not bad, but not sure it can go toe to toe with Agorapulse. I will give all the details in my blog post on the Agorapulse website! Stay tuned...
The only way to move forward is to let go of the past and embrace the future.
What got you here won't get you there.
In order to get ahead there's some things you have to leave behind.
And If you want to move up, there's some things you'll have to give up.
But never let the fear of the losing people cause you to lose yoursef.
Publishing queues in Agorapulse can help you recycle evergreen content like blog posts.

How to write an effective B2B case study Writing an effective B2B case study doesn't need to be difficult - and if you follow these tips it won't be!
Social media is a game.
Don't like the rules? Don't play.
But then don't complain about others winning.
You don't get extra points for not participating.
Don't forget that just because you are busy doesn't mean you are being productive.
If you find yourself always busy, but never actually getting anything done, take some time during your week to sit down and reevaluate what's on your to-do list.
It will help you refocus and prioritize the things that actually matter to you.
Below are some ideas to help you narrow down the list so you can be more productive (and hopefully less busy).
Ask yourself:
- Does this task align with your current values and goals?
- Should you be spending more or less time on this task?
- Is this something you actually want to do (or just something you feel obligated to do)?
- Can this task be eliminated or delegated to someone else?
- Is there someone I can ask for guidance or help in completing this task?
- Does this even need to be done?
The key to creating great content that people want to read is actually something so simple.
Just literally be yourself. That's it. That's the key.
You know, I used to spend hours agonizing over my social posts, blog posts, or anything I would write, because I'd get so caught up worrying about what others might think of my writing, or worse - what they would think of me as a person.
And it didn't stop with my social posts. This kind of insecure behavior could be seen in most areas of my life; I was constantly trying to be exactly what everyone else wanted, and somewhere along the way forgot about what I wanted.
After years of trying to make everyone else happy (and making myself miserable doing so), I eventually ended up burnt out, depressed, and feeling like I didn't know who I was anymore.
Which is why I now focus less on being the person other people want me to be, or expect me to be. Instead, I just do whatever makes me happy. I don't hide my past anymore. I stand up for what I believe in. I will share my honest opinion - regardless if I think the other person may not agree, or might think differently of me for saying it.
And so far, that's been working pretty great.
I still have days where I am insecure and doubt myself, but instead of letting those thoughts overwhelm me I try to do something constructive, like going for a walk with my dog, reading a book, or sharing something like this (which I am totally freaked out to do, but am doing it anyways, because f**k it).
Because I finally have come to the conclusion that it doesn't really matter what other people think - and in fact, it's detrimental to your success to do so.
All you really need to do is just show up, and be real - and then do that, every single day. Keep doing that, and you're already ahead of like, 90% of the population. Keep doing that, and you'll make it.

When was the last time you checked if your website was working?
And I don't mean just if it loads properly, I mean is it doing the work FOR you?
➡️ Is it helping you gain new leads?
➡️ Does it generate more sales for you?
➡️ Does it keep your audience engaged?
If you answered no to any of those questions, it's probably time for you to consider investing in a new website.
And if you still aren't sure, here are five more signs that will tell you whether or not it's time for an upgrade!

"I hate free stuff"
- said nobody ever.
So here's 3 free marketing tools to help take your social media marketing to the next level.

I've learned a thing or two over the years and believe me I wish I knew some of this stuff when I started (I would've avoided some embarassing moments for sure).
But don't be too hard on yourself as a new writer. Yes, it's important to be able to critique your work and see where to improve but being overly critical can have a negative effect and make you want to not even write anything at all!
I think that getting something written is better than nothing. You can always go back to edit it later.
And if all else fails and you feel stuck, just remember to write drunk, edit sober (Seriously, I think a good chunk of my writing in university was done this way! 😆)
PS. If you found this post helpful remember to like, share and save for later.
People always say that your brand isn't just your logo, right? Well, then what exactly is it then?
Swipe to find out!
Sometimes, we get stuck in life...
Stuck in our ways of doing what is best for everyone else, people-pleasing, saying yes when we really mean no, and being "nice" instead of standing up for ourselves.
Every time we do this, it chips away at our self-respect, and stifles our personal growth, making us feel like things will always be this way. But how can we get unstuck?
Freedom comes from the truth.
Even though we may make others uncomfortable by expressing our truth, if we don't, it will continue to cause us the greatest discomfort.
When we live in our truth, we feel lighter and free. Even if admitting the truth is tough, I promise you that the weight lifted from speaking it is worth the effort.
Choose freedom over comfort.
Okay seriously I don't think I would be able to accomplish half the stuff I do everyday if I didn't use these tools as part of my workflow. Legit they are HUGE time savers for me when I am creating content and anything that makes that process more efficient is a winner in my books!
What are you favorite tools for creating content? Let me know in the comments!
My friendly reminder to other content creators (and to myself):
Stop thinking about all the content you want to post, and actually start posting it!
I am very guilty of this, but trying to do better! Please tell me I'm not the only posting procrastinator. Anyone else feel the same?
Comment or ❤️ if you can relate to this struggle!

Be market-driven, not marketing-driven.
Invest in changing the culture by listening to your customers and what they need. Focus on understanding your market, so you can influence it and make it better.
Don't try to sell your product by telling people the features your product has - help them see why those features are beneficial to them. Help them see you can solve their problem, and then you've got a sale.
Don't forget that just because you are busy doesn't mean you are being productive.
If you find yourself always busy, but never actually getting anything done, take some time during your week to sit down and reevaluate what's on your to-do list. It will help you refocus and prioritize the things that actually matter to you.

Have a stellar week everyone - I hope you go out and kick some ass today!

Me, thinking of all the work I need to do before tomorrow
My indecision makes content creation 10x longer than it should be. Sometimes you just need to make a choice and run with it! Don't doubt yourself. Whatever you decide will be right if you make it right.
