AB Forms and Assessments and Adjusters, oh my! 🤯
Feeling overwhelmed by the next steps after your car accident? Don’t stress - we’re here to help!
E-mail us at [email protected] to book your assessment and for guidance on accessing MVA forms, treatment allowances, and more!
Interested in but terrified of needles? We have options!
Acupressure is a needle-less alternative that follows the same principles and concepts of Traditional Chinese Acupuncture, but uses finger pressure instead of needles. It can be used in combination with Gua Sha, ear seeds, and cupping as an effective alternative to needle insertion!
To discuss if acupuncture or acupressure are effective options for you, email our TCM Acupuncturist, Megan, at [email protected] or follow her at .acu for general information and education!
We still have some time before the cold weather hits 🤞🏼but we’ve already seen an increase in the number of patients seeking treatment after a motor vehicle collision.
If you’ve been in an accident, you’re entitled to treatment whether you are at fault or not. A physiotherapist or chiropractor can assess your injuries without a GP referral, and our MVA Coordinator can lend a hand with paperwork and communicating with your adjuster.
SAVE THIS POST 👇🏼 and keep it handy for the winter months!
WE’RE 3! 🥳

Shockwave is offered as an integrated, supplementary service during physiotherapy or chiropractic appointments - at no extra cost! If you’re interested in incorporating into your treatment plan, speak with your practitioner at your next appointment.
If you haven’t seen Dr. Sarah Shipton, you’re missing out!

The Graston Technique, or instrument-assisted soft tissue manipulation, is an effective method of breaking down scar tissue.
During assessment and treatment, your physio or chiro may identify areas of restriction, usually caused by scar tissue formed in the fascia, tendons, or muscles. Using a specialty stainless steel tool, practitioners scrape the skin over the affected area, which stretches the connective tissue and increases blood flow to the area for faster healing.
The best part? Graston can be included in your treatment at no extra cost - if you need it, you get it!
that we offer Pilates for Clinical Rehabilitation and for general conditioning (and fun!)?
Pilates is a full body workout that focuses on improving both strength and flexibility. It’s beneficial for anyone looking to improve core strength, target specific muscles, and to increase mobility.
Under our Clinical Rehabilitation program, set blocks of Pilates sessions are billable through benefits as a Physiotherapy service. After assessment, your Physiotherapist works with our Pilates Instructors to set goals and to build a supervised exercise program targeting any areas in need of improvement. Our in-house equipment allows us to moderate the exercises, so that we can correct alignment, form, and increase/decrease difficulty as needed.
For more information, e-mail us at [email protected] or ask your practitioner at your next appointment!
HI NICK! 👋🏽 Nick is the next physio up in our series of interviews for National Physiotherapy Month. Find out more about him below 👇🏼
Icebreaker — If you were an animal, what animal would you be?
A sloth? 🦥 Or maybe my dog Rider, he lives a pretty good life.
Why did you choose physiotherapy?
Like most physios, I played sports and got hurt. I think that’s how most of us end up in this field!
What’s the weirdest way you’ve been injured?
I got hit in the head with a puck when I wasn’t playing hockey! I was sitting in the stands and someone took a slap shot. I got a pretty good concussion.
What’s the best professional development course you’ve taken?
Probably dry needling, but I really like learning about concussion rehab, too.
What’s one thing on your professional bucket list?
Completing the Orthodiv levels!
Lastly, what’s the best thing you’ve learned at ABPCM?
Ummmm…. How to dodge social media! You’ll never catch me on here!
(CHALLENGE ACCEPTED, NICK! Drop a 👍🏼 in the comments if you want to see more of Nick on our Instagram!)
Say g’day to Dimity! 🇦🇺 Read on to get to know our fav’ physio from Down Under —
If you were an animal, what animal would you be?
A dolphin 🐬, I love the water!
Why did you pick physiotherapy as a career?
Like almost everyone, I was an athlete with injuries. I really liked the diversity of treatment.
As an athlete, what was the weirdest way you got injured?:
I got smoked in the head by a surfboard!
What’s the best professional development course you’ve taken?:
The PACCMAN course — Physio And Critical Care Management in Australia, which is a specialization in the intensive care unit.
What’s on your career bucket list?:
I would like to be a lecturer and teach the next round of up and coming physios!
What’s the best thing you’ve learned at ABPCM?
How diverse and friendly the people of SE Calgary are!
Thanks, Dim! Follow her on Instagram at
Say hi to Kerrin, one of our (and our fearless leader)! 👋🏽
We asked a few key questions about herself for Physio Month:
Easy icebreaker! If you were an animal, what animal would you be?:
A penguin 🐧 (I love raw fish)
Why did you pick physiotherapy as a career?
I played competitive field hockey growing up and I’ve always been interested in sports medicine. I worked at a few physio clinics while doing my kinesiology degree and got to appreciate the work that physios do first-hand!
As an athlete, what was the silliest way you injured yourself?
I fractured my orbital bone playing the day before my high school graduation photos!
What’s the best professional development course you’ve taken?
Definitely dry needling - we use it so much. I love to needle the back of the knee or the lats because relief is so immediate.
What’s on your career bucket list?
I’d like to lend a hand in professional advocacy, helping to advocate for physio in Alberta.
Last one! What’s the best thing you’ve learned at ABPCM?
How to build a team! And I think we’ve got a pretty good one 😉
Get to know our Amanda ✨👋🏽
First question is an easy one! If you were an animal, what would you be: A cat 🐈
What’s the silliest way you’ve injured yourself: Fun fact — I’ve actually never had a broken bone!
Why did you pick physiotherapy?: I was good at science in high school and I played a lot of sports, so I ended up following through with sciences in University and the rest is history!
What’s the most interesting professional course you’ve taken?: Probably the Orthodiv Level 3, focussing on the upper body. It goes really in depth about joint mobilization and mechanics.
What’s something on your career bucket list?: Working at ABPCM was at the top of my list 😂
What’s the best thing you’ve learned working here?: How to use the espresso machine!
