Bowness Arts is hiring! We are seeking an experienced Magic the Gathering enthusiast to work in the game cafe.

Position: Game Cafe Staff
Starting pay: $20/hour
Availability: Full Time - Evenings & Weekends
Start Date: November 1st 2024 or earlier
Job Description:
This position is primarily focused on selling, buying and organizing collectable trading cards while also performing all supporting duties related to the Board Game Cafe. Working directly with customers, you will help them find the cards they need and provide them with friendly and knowledgeable advice on which cards are best for them.
Card Desk Duties:
Trading, selling, buying, and sorting trading cards
Running tournaments for various trading card games, including Magic the Gathering, Pokemon, Lorcana, etc.
Board Game Cafe Duties:
Cleaning the store (Dusting, wiping tables, mopping, cleaning bathrooms, cleaning windows, washing dishes, taking out garbage and recycling, shoveling snow, sweeping, etc.)
Serving food and drinks, making sandwiches, restocking food displays.
Serving alcohol
Restocking products, making displays, facing products
Helping customers find games to play and providing knowledgeable recommendations.
Opening and closing the store
Operating the point of sale and cash handling
Requirements:
A friendly and welcoming customer service attitude
Well groomed and hygienic
Minimum 18 years old
ProServe license (will be provided if not already achieved)
Extensive knowledge about Magic the Gathering
Able to work independently
Desired Qualities:
Prior card desk work experience
Knowledgeable about Warhammer, the Pokemon TCG and other card games
Passion for board games
Passion for vinyl records and music
