I recently had a meeting with someone affiliated with government who was offering grant money to small {growing} businesses suggest that we move our facility “up north” or to a federally inspected facility to help us, well, grow…

From their perspective, it was the next step, the logical thing to do, to streamline business.

But we are not a factory. We are a company that shifts store hours so that mothers can be there to pick up their babies from school, or work evening shifts after they’ve tucked their darlings into bed. We work with fathers’ schedules so they can pick up as many hours needed to support their families in this ever increasingly expensive world, and employ art students so they can work towards something they’re so incredibly passionate about. We are a storefront that joyfully serves our community, and jumps at the chance for human connection & exchanges.

Sure, growing sounds nice, but we’re happy to grow in our own way & on our own terms, and definitely not at the expense of our sweetest little High-Vibe family. Grant money denied.
