March 30 - 7PM (Doors open at 6:30)

This time around featuring Barry Blanchard. Barry was Born in Calgary and has had a long career of climbing in the Canadian Rockies & The Himalayas.
A small list of notable ascents include The Andromeda Strain, M-16, and the North Pillar of the North Twin. In recent years local film maker Andy Arts has partnered with Barry to create a documentary titled Spindrift.
March 30 we will be screening Spindrift followed by a Q&A session with Barry himself. We will also have signed copies of the movie poster for members of the audience to bring home.

Each ticket will also receive a free raffle entry for a Ortovox Merino T-shirt.

Our manager is currently in Ouray Colorado for the 2024 Ouray Ice Fest at . He is coaching Canmore youth who is competing for Team Canada.

Join us tomorrow at Switching Gear YYC for our first ever slideshow presentation. We are incredibly excited to be supporting the John Lauchlan award; come learn about the award; its purpose, how it was created, who it’s for, etc.

We will be joined by Grant Stewart () and Zac Colbran () for a presentation on their first ascent on Mount Huntington in the Central Alaska Range. Their new route, Technicolour Superdream, climbs 1,300 meters of AI5+ M6+ A2.

It’s going to be great to share our new space with so many of our friends, clients, and customers and to welcome new folks. For nearly 30 years, Switching Gear has always done its best to provide people with access to adventure at a fair price. Now it’s time to start sharing our stories.

This event is by donation, with a suggested minimum donation of $10. All donations are directly going toward the John Lauchlan Award Fund .

We just had to share these beautiful photos from from our event with on November 26th. We had a wonderful day snuggling these adorable puppies and learning more about this foster run rescue in the based Bow Valley.

Thank you to everyone who visited the shop and met the puppies & support the rescue.
