5" Apple Cherry Pies this week. Scrumptious!

More donuts, 5" pies and tarts this week in response to popular demand. At the Calgary Farmers Market while supplies last.

The donuts were a hit, Folks! We'll have them again this week from Thursday to Sunday while they last: Vegan Chocolate and Non-Vegan Vanilla.

Also on offer are a number of freshly made 5" Prairie Berry Pies, plus the usual array of bread loaves and buns, cupcakes, muffins, squares and much, much more.

Announcing the arrival of our first gluten, nut and dairy free baked donuts in two flavours: Chocolate and Vanilla Lemon.

We have several specials this week in honour of Fathers' Day!

Apple Gallettes made with organic apples and non-dairy salted caramel sauce. This treat is gluten free, nut free, dairy free but not vegan.

And if Dad's tastes run to chocolate our Triple Chocolate Black Forest Delight may be just the thing. Made with organic quinoa flour, organic sour cherries, non-dairy chocolate.

Also available are Vegan Apple Crumble tarts and pies made with oats and organic apples.

We will also have chocolate and lemon glazed donuts on Friday!

Delissitude Episode 3 Renay Eng-Fisher, the gluten-free guru herself, is back with a recipe for salmon green onion potato cake.

Yes, we have pies this week! Rhubarb Strawberry and Prairie Berry with an oat topping. Gluten, nut and dairy free, of course!

Tasty, nourishing and easy to prepare ... We call them 'Vegan Potato Cheese Pops'. Drop them in the toaster, microwave or fry pan and they're ready to eat in no time.

Made with local Alberta potatoes, vegan cheese and no added spices. Heathy, nutritious and delicious!

As promised, our Strawberry Shortcake makes it's return tomorrow and through the weekend while quantities last. At the Calgary Farmers Market.

Renay and I recently had an opportunity to donate some of our fresh baking to a number of frontline workers who are doing so much to keep our seniors safe. And we included a cupcake for each of the 100+ residents as well.

In answer to a few inquiries we've had about making a meal of our samosas ...

Recipe for Turmeric Rice
(Makes two cups of cooked rice) and side salad

Start with two cups of rice and four cups of water. Bring the rice to a boil. Then turn off burner and cover the pot. The rice should appear wet with almost all of the water absorbed by the rice.

While the rice is cooking, prepare sautéed onions and diced red pepper in a fry pan or skillet.

You'll need:
1 medium onion diced.
1/2 red pepper diced
3 tbsp grape seed oil or other preferred oil
1 tbsp turmeric
1/2 lemon (juiced)
1/2 tsp cumin (optional)
1/2 tsp chilli flakes (optional)

Add the oil to the pan and 1 tsp salt. Add the onions and cook over a medium heat.
Sauté the onions until transparent. Add red peppers. Add watery rice and add spices. Stir to mix. Add lemon juice, stir to mix. Cover and reduce heat to low. Let steam for 20 minutes. Add more salt for taste.

And, every mother who drops by the booth will receive a free coconut banana cream parfait! Gluten free, dairy free and nut free.
