Where passion becomes occupation.
The full moon casts a golden glow over the Saharan dunes, creating a surreal and enchanting atmosphere. I sat on this dune under the stars and listened to the distant rhythm of Berber drums. It was a moment of pure peace, a reminder of the beauty and simplicity of life. As I sat there, lost in the moment. It was a night I'll never forget.
When I was little, I used to look up at the sky and wonder how it could be so vast. Watching my dad travel the world for work, I dreamed of doing the same. I’ve always wanted to see every corner of the globe—experience different cultures, learn new words in languages, savour the unique flavours, and dive into the rich histories that shape them. It felt like a distant dream. I aimed to visit every single continent to start with. And I’ve been planning to visit Africa for a while; it’s my last continent. And today, I just landed in Morocco, and now I can say I’ve been to every continent on Earth (except for Antarctica… not sure if I want to go there!).
My parents were my biggest supporters. When I was still in school, they encouraged me to set out on my own. It was in 2006, on a trip to Bangladesh, with my brother’s little point-and-shoot camera, that I began to see the world differently. That trip opened my eyes, not only to the beauty around me but to how photography could capture it.
Now, with an incredible partner by my side and a curious toddler, my passion for travel has only grown. My daughter, at just three years old, has already visited six countries. As I watch her take on the world, I can’t help but hope that these experiences will shape her view of it. I want her to grow up without the weight of racism or stereotypes. I want her to respect every person, culture, every bit of nature, and animal she encounters. This journey isn’t just about seeing the world—it’s about making it a better place for her and everyone she meets along the way.
Last night’s solar storm was nothing short of spectacular! The aurora was pulsating and dancing across the sky, creating a mesmerizing light show. Even though I wasn't able to make it to the mountains, it was still a breathtaking experience. The moon added a magical touch, casting a soft glow on the dancing lights. I can’t wait to plan a trip to the mountains for the next solar storm and witness this celestial phenomenon in all its glory.
I'd been waiting all weekend for the aurora to put on a show and had planned a mountain trip for some epic photos. But, as they say, nature has its own plans. Had to settle for a weekday adventure, but it was still worth getting out of the city for a glimpse of the lights.
Fingers crossed for an incredible aurora and snowboarding season this winter!
Larch trees are a sight to behold in the Alberta mountains. Their bright green needles turn a stunning golden hue in autumn, creating a breathtaking contrast against the rugged peaks. But this transformation is fleeting; these trees are deciduous, shedding their needles each winter. To witness the full glory of larch trees, timing is everything. Catch them at their peak in late September or early October for a truly unforgettable experience.
Calgary's golden glow.🍁🍂
Last month, while filming a hyperlapse, my DJI Mini 4 Pro crashed into a roof as it got dark. I couldn't reach the building management then, so I had to leave it there. After a month of rain, frost, storms, and wind, I finally retrieved the drone yesterday. To my surprise, it still charges and powers on! Even the Sandisk microSD card remained intact. Here's the hyperlapse I captured.
Maybe this is why the US is considering banning DJI—their technology is just that impressive.
Mountains can be dangerous. A split-second decision in the unknown can have dire consequences. Two years ago, we set out on a hike with plans to camp overnight. After covering nearly 80% of the trail, we encountered knee-deep snow in June. Something we hadn’t anticipated. Despite the conditions, we pressed on, aware that to reach the lake, we’d need to climb a rocky section with chains. Ultimately, we chose to turn back; looking back, it was the right choice.
This year, I had the chance to return, and it reinforced our decision from two years ago. Climbing rocks in deep snow while relying on slippery chains can be treacherous.
Yet, the reward was stunning: an incredible lake nestled in the heart of the most breathtaking infinity pool I’ve ever seen.
Aboriginal peoples across the globe have endured a harrowing history of injustice and colonization. We often think of the British as the primary colonizers, but we must remember that Bangladesh, too, has its own indigenous communities that continue to face systemic oppression. I was born in the heart of this indigenous land, the hill tracks of Chittagong. Growing up, I was oblivious to the history of the indigenous people who called this place home.
I stand in solidarity with the people of the hill tracks. Their culture, food, and language are integral to Bangladesh's rich history. It's a history that often goes overlooked but deserves to be celebrated and protected. We must demand justice and equality for all.
The KP10 show last May spoiled me for Northern Lights, but I'm so happy they've been more frequent recently. There's nothing quite like witnessing this celestial dance. I'm crossing my fingers for the next one to happen on a weekend so I can head to the mountains and catch the show in all its glory.
The calm before the storm. A breathtaking scene in the Canadian Rockies.
Hiking miles through the backcountry, I've learned the importance of conserving water. From collecting it from natural sources to boiling it for safety, every drop counts. Together, we can make a difference in addressing the water issue in . Let's be mindful of our water consumption and find ways to conserve more daily.
Off on a new backcountry journey. In a few more years we'll be exploring the wilderness together.
Can you believe will look like this in a few weeks?
Sitting on a weathered log, her small feet dangling over a rock. Her eyes sparkle with wonder as she watches the water ripple and the fish dart beneath the surface. A gentle breeze carries the sweet scent of wildflowers and pine needles. It’s a moment of pure joy, a connection to nature that is all too rare in today’s world. As parents and educators, we must foster a love for the outdoors in our children. Let’s encourage them to explore, to get their hands dirty, and to discover the magic that exists in the natural world.
Nature's beauty is often overlooked. Soils are pure, unlike carpets. Grasses are comfortable, not sofas. Clouds provide shelter, not roofs. We've drifted away from the natural world and normalized artificial things.
By nurturing a connection to nature in my daughter, I hope to contribute to a world that values and protects our natural environment.
It makes me proud when she says "I wann go haikin..."
Where the vast prairies embrace the towering Rockies, Alberta's sky paints a breathtaking canvas of endless blue and rugged peaks.
Heartbreaking news from Bangladesh, where over 200,000 people have been left homeless by devastating floods. Torrential rains in the region and the release of water from a dam in India have worsened the situation. Despite enduring countless challenges in recent months, the people of Bangladesh continue to show resilience and strength. My thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected.
Please help those people however you can.
Tiny feet, big adventures. Watching this little explorer conquer new heights, one step at a time.
In the heart of Bangladesh, students are bravely laying down their lives on the streets, embodying the spirit of true freedom fighters. Their sacrifice is a poignant reminder that the quest for liberty and justice is a path paved with courage and determination. Each life lost is a beacon, lighting the way for future generations to live in a society where freedom reigns supreme. Let their bravery inspire us to continue the fight for a world where everyone can live with dignity and respect.
I stand with my brothers and sisters.

The only safe place in this evil world is, deep in the mountains without any cellphone reception.
As a proud Bangladeshi Canadian. I'm writing to you today with a heavy heart about the situation unfolding in Bangladesh. Students are protesting for their basic rights, but they're facing a brutal response from the government and its affiliates. Police and army forces are reportedly using violence against these young people, and innocent lives are being lost. In latest update 60+ students killed, 5000+ injured.
The situation is even more alarming because the Bangladeshi government has shut down internet and phone lines. I can hardly reach my mom who is stuck there. This is a clear attempt to silence the voices of the students and prevent the international community from witnessing the violence.
Since I can't be on the streets. These students need my help. By raising awareness, we can put pressure on the Bangladeshi government to stop the violence and listen to the demands of the protesters. And ultimately Sheikh Hasina to step down. Here are a few things you can do:
