Ten years ago today, on my 32nd birthday, I stepped into the ring with one of the greats, in the semi finals at the IFMA World Championships in Malaysia. Though I didnβt get the decision, I fought my way through one of the biggest female brackets and returned home with bronze medal and so many unforgettable experiences.
Fast forward to today, my 42nd birthday, and Iβm celebrating with a marathon. This isnβt my first time running 42km, but itβs the first time Iβm tackling a marathon purely for the joy of it, sans competition. Iβm celebrating this incredible body of mine and all the extraordinary feats it has enabled me to accomplish.

Are you struggling with your motivation?

Itβs hard to feel inspired to pick up those weights if youβve been hibernating all winter, or when youβre feeling stressed with work, family, commitments etc.
So, my advice is to commit to 15min. Start a timer and start your workout. If at 15min you still arenβt βfeeling itβ stop. You can try again tomorrow...
Most times, giving yourself permission to not always HAVE IT IN YOU can take some of your stress away, and actually make it EASIER for you to commit to your workouts. You may find that at that 15min mark, your mind set has shifted and you can happily finish your workout. If not, and you pack it up for the day, BUT remember you still got in 15min of exercise. So thatβs still a WIN because itβs more than you originally wanted (itβs the small wins that lead to HUGE success!)

Today is one of two days each year that Muay Thai is celebrated nationally in Thailand. πΉπ
Today is celebrated in honor of King Sanphet VIII (The Tiger King). Who was a Muay Thai practitioner himself and promoted Muay Thai as a sport to keep his soldiers fit, which grew into a national pastime.
Today we celebrate the sportβs historical ties to royalty, by paying homage to the late Tiger King with festivals full of Wai Kru demonstrations.
