Really good info!!
Wooden and tiled floors are frequently hazardous for our patients. Slipping can predispose them to iliopsoas tears or strains and flare-ups of arthritic joints, which eventually results in more pain and discomfort for the pet. Once a patient has slipped or fallen, it is not uncommon that they lose confidence in walking on these surfaces, which increases their anxiety and stress levels.
Dogs gain traction through their nails and their paw pads. Some of the strategies to prevent slipping involve increasing traction through either the nails, paw pads, or both.

BUILDING THE DOG CLAY COURSE!
Taking this course with Dr. Narda G. Robinson, a renowned expert in canine anatomy and massage, presents a unique opportunity to deepen your understanding of muscular anatomy in dogs through immersive and hands-on learning experiences.
Full course details can be found here: https://www.eli-us.com/product/building-the-dog-anatomy-as-the-basis-of-medicine-massage/
Through clay modeling with the specialized CANIKEN® models and palpation of live dogs, you will engage in kinesthetic learning, allowing you to not only visualize but also physically feel the intricacies of canine muscular anatomy. This hands-on approach will enhance your understanding of muscle attachments, actions, and innervation, while also developing your ability to identify areas of tension and discomfort in live dogs.
The course covers axial anatomy, thoracic limb anatomy, and pelvic limb anatomy, emphasizing the relationships between structure and function, as well as the interactions between muscles and fascia. Discussions on topics such as pain, posture, and common afflictions affecting each area provide valuable context and real-world application.
By the end of the 3-day course, you will have gained a comprehensive understanding of canine muscular anatomy, enabling you to apply your knowledge to assess movement patterns, identify muscular imbalances, and contribute to the overall well-being and health of dogs. This course is not just about learning anatomy; it's about developing practical skills that can make a tangible difference in the lives of canine patients. Whether you're a veterinarian, veterinary technician, or canine bodyworker, this course will undoubtedly elevate your professional expertise and enhance your ability to provide quality care to dogs.
