El Sistema Calgary Multicultural Orchestra Foundation is a charity dedicated to creating and running music programs for children and youth who might not otherwise have the opportunity to learn music. Our programs offer safety, joy, and fun, building self-esteem and a sense of belonging. Since 2009, we have improved lives through music in the Calgary community.
The Program: Calgary Multicultural Orchestra (CMO)
The Calgary Multicultural Orchestra (CMO) is a free after-school music program for children and youth ages 7 to 17, held Monday to Friday from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Valley View and G.W. Skene Schools. CMO provides 4 hours of weekly music lessons, free instrument loans, and year-round teacher support.
