Courtney (she/her), an Accountant in Assurance and Accounting, joined MNP in 2022 while pursuing her CPA designation. Her tenure MNP has allowed her to realize a long-held dream alongside a rewarding and engaging career.
“Working at MNP while enrolled in the CPA program has given me endless mentorship and learning opportunities. The team has been so supportive and understanding.
Not only do I have a passion for numbers, I also have a passion for horses. My parents and I recently purchased a hobby farm where I live with my horse, Findley and my cat, Josie. I have been riding and successfully competing since the age of seven. The dream of owning a farm has been in the making for a long time and with the work flexibility and financial stability that MNP provides has helped to make my dream come true.
My time with MNP has been a challenging and positive experience and I look forward to a long, rewarding career as well as making lifelong friends.”

Moncy (he/him), a Bookkeeper in Cloud Accounting Services, embarked on a remarkable journey from India to Canada. In 2018, he crossed oceans to attend Lethbridge College’s accounting program. After graduating, Moncy found his place at the Lethbridge MNP team in 2020.
His work ethic, uplifting personality, and infectious smile quickly made him an integral part of the bookkeeping team. Moncy’s commitment to high-quality work aligned perfectly with MNP’s culture.
In May 2021, Moncy took a significant step: applying for permanent residency (PR) in Canada. Unfortunately, his application faced delays, and he never received an acknowledgement of receipt.
“When I applied for my residency – [an MNP Partner] wrote an exceptional employment letter for me, including what do I do for MNP and how much I’m valued as a team member. Our local [human resources team] continuously reached out to me to get the current status and supported me when I was stressed about it. Our Partners also wrote a letter to Lethbridge’s MP asking for assistance and to inquire about my PR applications status. This made me feel very comfortable, cared for, and felt like I belonged somewhere with awesome people around.”
This gesture sped up the PR approval process, ensuring Moncy’s place as a Canadian resident by fall 2022.

With a goal of getting outside, connecting with peers, and enjoying a nice stretch during the workday, the Winnipeg office recently kicked off their Wednesday Walk Club!
“From our first walk with 6 people to 16 people the second week, I’m so pleased with how the walk club is growing. We have approximately 40 people signed up to join us throughout the summer. It’s a come and go as you please type of event, and you don’t have to make all of them. The only goal is to get outside and be together! There is something that just makes you feel better after being outside during the day!”

But when done properly, conflict and confusion can be avoided, leading the way for a smooth transition that can solidify the long-term success of the firm.
By building a thoughtful shareholder agreement, putting consensus first, and staying ahead of any financial surprises, firms and the employees in an ESOP can ensure they’re starting down the succession path on the right foot.

Meet Whitney (she/her), Business Development Consultant, Calgary
“Finding a company that truly cared about the community was important to me. I’m actively involved in the not-for-profit space, wearing different hats to serve my community so I needed a workplace that would endorse and encourage my community endeavours. One event I absolutely love being a part of is the MNP Charity Golf Classic, an event that takes place annually and serves as a platform to unite community members and corporate partners to make a positive impact in our city.
This photograph captures a moment from the Open Championship Tournament of the African Canadian Golfers Club (ACGC), a nonprofit organization that was introduced to me by MNP. The ACGC tournament is dedicated to fundraising for different charitable causes within the city and it’s awesome to be a part of that!”

Since 2007, our Peace River team has volunteered their time for a free income tax night dedicated to seniors and low-income community members. This year, their efforts resulted in the preparation of over 150 tax returns in a single night! Over the course of the past 16 years, they’ve collectively filed more than 1,800 tax returns, contributing nearly $500,000 back into their community.
The team eagerly anticipates this annual event, cherishing the opportunity to come together, provide much-needed relief, and make a positive impact on their community.
“I look forward to this night every tax season! It is always a fun night when we are all working on the same thing and can work as a team. It’s also a great opportunity for new students to learn how to prepare simple returns in a relaxed environment where everyone is working together and available to help. At the end of the night, it is always a great feeling when we see how many tax returns we have prepared and knowing the positive impact we have had for the community.”
– Kelsey, Articling Accountant, Peace River
“I look forward to T1 night every year! It’s a great way to help our community and its low-income residents and seniors, as well as work as a team in completing the big task. It has busy bee vibes and I’m all for it!”
– Nicole, Accounting Technician, Peace River
“This is an event I look forward to every year. There are many seniors/low-income individuals in our town who appreciate this very much. It is a feel-good event that I hope continues for as long as I am at MNP and beyond.”

Pillow fights? In an office? Laughter filled the air as MNP team members in the east coast engaged in spirited pillow battles, all in the name of FUN! This lively event provided a much-deserved break during the bustling busy season. Two new hires had the privilege of witnessing this playful spectacle on their very first day.
“I have to admit, I have never experienced a pillow fight in the office before (on my first day or any day for that matter). Even though I didn’t participate, it was fun to watch. The tax team must have had some pent-up energy because there was no pillow talk with this pillow fight. They went all out!! Little surprised there were no feathers flying around in the end, but made for some entertaining memories on my first day.”
– David, Lead Data Engineer
“It was such a unique idea. I only spectated, but it looked like a great stress reliever! It definitely provided a bit of an escape and lots of entertainment, especially for our team members in the middle of tax season!"

Meet Dallas (he/him), Articling Accountant, Lethbridge
Dallas, a University of Lethbridge graduate with a double major in Accounting and Finance, embarked on his professional journey with MNP in January 2022. Dallas’ initial introduction to MNP was through a recruitment event at the University of Lethbridge and was followed by a referral from a fellow WHL Player and MNP team member, Spenser Jensen.
Having played in the WHL for a total of 5 years—3 years in Moose Jaw and 2 years in Kamloops—Dallas now finds himself married and on the cusp of completing the CPA Program. Excitingly, he and his partner are expecting their first child this summer. In alignment with MNP’s commitment to maintaining a balanced lifestyle, Dallas plans to take paternity leave before officially diving into his CFE preparation for this September. This additional time off will allow him to cherish precious moments with his new family member while easing into the next phase of his career.
