Where are the politicians in all of this? Real ones, not Trudeau. Very scary implications with not much foresight being considered. Look at Germany and Mexico’s examples of doing similar.

We have been following this for a while. Essentially the this claim and subsequent police follow-up are confirmation that no one owns publicly accessed waters... regardless of what the land owner, marina, or who the people are the may be advising you otherwise.
If a water body is completely encompassed by private land with no public access, then the water is private.
Water with any public access route is public.

Not good...
Terrible news. Last weekend's powerful, late season storm took out Port Credit's salmon pen. If anyone saw the river on the weekend, it was running thick with silt, big waves were rolling straight into the harbour docks and the slips were packed with chunks of broken ice. The pen got hammered. A number of other pen sites took losses as well.
Here's what we are doing to respond:
1. The Ministry has a probe in each pen. We will retrieve the Port Credit probe today, to pull any useful data from it. This information could help the program in the long run.
2. The Ministry is confident that it can still meet the 2018 stocking targets, locally and across Lake Ontario.
3. We are working on finding a safer pen site in Port Credit.
We expect to have a members meeting in about a month and we can provide an update at that meeting. In the meantime, we will do our best to answer questions and take suggestions.
It's a sad loss. Mortality is a fact of life for young salmon. Every adult Chinook lays hundreds of eggs for a reason. But it hurts to loose "our" salmon.
Let's see how much the libtards put in our budget for the GLs.
