Any of the following symptoms may indicate a need for corrective jaw surgery:

•Difficulty chewing or biting food
•Difficulty swallowing
•Chronic jaw pain
•Excessive wearing of teeth
•Open bite (a space between upper and lower teeth when the mouth is closed)
•Overbite or under-bite

•Facial injury or a defect from birth

Correction of these problems will improve function and may also improve facial esthetics.

• Dental Assistant -Job Description:

- assist in all surgeries (locals, sedations and implants etc..) alongside Oral Surgeon
- set up surgical trays/OR’s
- Sterilization
- take X-rays/CT scans and upload into digital scanner
- seat patients/review paperwork
- filling and organizing charts
- monitor patients vital signs during recovery
- explain pre and post operative instructions
- assist with Botox treatment

• Office Administrator - Job Description

-Diploma in Medical Support Services or related field with experience.

Duties/ Responsibilities:

-Book/maintain and update all appts
-Schedule patients for efficient use of doctor and staff time (clinic flow)
-Daily schedule checks for accuracy and ensuring flow
-Process and balance daily sales, bank deposits
-Organize patient files
-Ensure correct billing and invoicing
-Monthly balancing of accounts
-Process all insurance billing and collection
-Answer and respond to phone calls/emails/texts

I understand the concern. As a clinician, I’m very familiar with this fear. Many people have anxiety related to injections. I’ve always been very interested in researching effective, non-invasive treatments and pain-reducing techniques to help my patients.⠀

One technique that I’ve incorporated into my practice was developed by Dr. Blaine. Dr. Blaine uses a tool to “numb” the injection site reducing pain when Botox is administered. The device uses the “Gate Control Theory of Pain”. ⠀

Patients who’ve had Botox treatment with other practitioners tell me this device is a game-changer, almost eliminating discomfort. Simply put, the thalamus is the part of the brain that processes the sensation of pain and discomfort. The brain has a difficult time acknowledging two different stimuli at the same time. The vibration from the device overrides the senses and reduces the sensation of pain.”
