1/8 scale model train builder
just a side by side comparison,
here are some pics of the operation lifesaver van
this is how it it ended up in the accident
An update to our accident back in July, Our Operation Lifesaver van was heavily damaged . At that point it looked like it was too damaged to be saved. All of our damaged equipment came home with me last night, Close inspection and removal of the frame showed no damage to the frame and the floor was being held out of place by bent nails, only thing bent was 1 end platform, a bit of heat will fix that. Apparently I built this thing to withstand just about anything, I will add some pics shortly
here are a couple wrecked van before we dug it out of the pile
It is official, the Operation Lifesaver van that I built was destroyed in the accident yesterday, at first glance it looked repairable but once we got it outside it was discovered the frame was bent, so now i will build a 60ft cn flat car and it will be the new home for the van
Many of you have likely heard the news of a impaired driver hitting our building that we keep our trains in . The damage is bad with one of my cn vans being involved. Will know the full extent of damage today
Hard to believe it was 4 years ago and I was attempting to build my first van. My skills may not have improved much but the rest of my projects turned out pretty close to how I wanted them to
working on something a bit smaller today, here are 2 rmr 8013's O and Ho
We invited the family of 1 of our fallen members to reveal the tank car that was built in honour of him
I should say Barry's car is now home. He will be forever missed but a happy reminder of him will be with us
our tank car made it to Strathroy today and stayed on the rails
getting ready for moving day, the tank car will be delivered to our railroad on fri, and will give it a test run to see if it will run
our tank car is officially finished, what to think of the next project,
updated pictures of the tank car with the reflective stripes in place
got some decals on our tank car today
1 last picture of the tank car before the decals go on it, .there was 1 flaw that finally got the best of me and just like Elvis sang "its now or never" it was time to fix it, the issue was that the railing on top made the car exceed plate c which would stick out like a sore thumb, i ground off the railing and cut 1 1/8" off it and now sits at 24 5/8, actual should be 24 3/4
Our tank car is now officially complete other than lettering. the reflective stripes and painted trucks does add to the car
tank car sitting on its own wheels,
here are a couple pics of the bottom of the tank car
tank car got a coat of paint today
got home early today so I was able to fix my hand brake issue on the tank car
now a couple more showing some progress
well its that time again, Lets play I spot the mistake I will put 2 pics on showing it
problem rectified, ladder is now in proper spot
