How do you know you're working with a professional sugarist?

1. You know the benefits of sugaring over waxing - because it was explained to you in advance.
2. They have an easily accessible bathroom that is equipped with all "the things" (because sometimes you can't arrive as fresh as you'd like to your appointment)
3. They utilize several different types of sugar & have more than one warmer on the go at any point in time. Sugar is very temperature sensitive and there is not a single type of sugar that is suitable for everyone, or even for every part, of the body.
4. They sugar ALL bodies. It doesn't matter if you are male or female, or what bits and bobs you have, a professional gets the job done.
5. The sugar station is clean - no messy drips and drabs laying around leaving you wondering when the last time was they gave the thing a good wipe down.
6. They don't "double dip" - a fresh glove is used EVERY time the sugarist pulls sugar from the pot.
7. They make you feel at ease. Having your hair pulled out en masse isn't the most pleasant experience ....but a professional sugarist will always make you feel as comfortable as possible.

How do you know you're working with a professional electrologist?

This is a great question as electroloysis is an UNREGULATED INDUSTRY. There is NO over-arching college which detemines or enforces standards of practice.

So how do you know they're a pro?.......
1. They get results! The business has positive reveiws online and in the community.
2. They've invested in their clientele - top of the line equipment is utilized & regular maintenance is performed.
3. You receive a full consultation in advance of treatment: where all of your questions are addressed and fully answered.
4. They have established partnerships with other legitimate businesses.
5. They hold a degree from a reputable electrolysis school.
6. They routinely pass local health unit inspections.
7. It is their primary service rendered - electrolysis is a trade that requires regular (not intermittent) practice.
8. They discuss all the available modes of electrolysis and fully explain WHY a specific method has been selected for you.
9. You understand that hair removal is a process and that hair grows in cycles.

This one means a lot.

I even shed a little tear when Siobhan gave me the award. I'd missed the gala awards ceremony - but I'd won the prize.

Other solo-preneurs will understand this sentiment: We push hard. We build something bigger than ourselves. We sacrifice. We miss out on fun things. We miss out on family. We lose friendships. Because we're building something bigger than ourselves.

And we work alone. There's no one cheering us on but ourselves most days. Big moments go without celebration, because we're just a team of one (and we don't ever want to come off as bragging - even when we have reason to).

So today I'm tooting my own horn - I won an important award: my clients & my community recognize the work my business does; and I'm proud.

These terms are commonly interchanged - but depending on which service you request, you will get different results!

Typically, a "Bikini" hair removal pattern will address all of the areas that would show while wearing your bathing suit. Generally this is the upper thigh area, the leg crease and into the p***c region. The majority of the hair that is hidden by your bather will remain.

With a "Brazilian" removal pattern - we remove it ALL. From the front through the backside. It's like the day you were born! 👶 (Unless you'd like to keep a little: it's your body - your choice!)

With body sugaring, the hair can be much shorter than is necessary for waxing.
That means less time growing, and more time glowing this summer 😁

Love seeing youth entrepreneurship being fostered in our community ❤️

Today we were excited to announce and celebrate the 2nd My Future My Career Kids Entrepreneurship Program! This program is to seed entrepreneurship, ignite confidence, and promote basic business practices for ages 8-14. These young entrepreneurs are awarded up to $500 based on their business planning and start-up budget. There were 4 new businesses and 3 existing businesses expanded!
