This Connect 4 game definitely did not come without challenges. My burn pile can attest to that. But I'm definitely glad I got it finished. All the chips were cut on my LongMill as well as the main game board.

~ The process ~

Not complete, but the first half of these legs for a couple wine tables.
Routing out the cove for the peg, and gluing the halves together.
To tapering the edge and marking out the cutout for the folding table.
Using the right tools makes it so much easier. I can't say enough about how I love these dovetail clamps from Microjig.

My wife is an incredibly talented maker as well, she crochets. You should check her out . She's teamed up with her mom and they are creating the cutest creations out of wool.

So, this was a fun little sign Dusty LongMill made for her when we can have craft shows again.

~ Finally ~

Finally, I can show you the finished front side of the walnut cookie. I made this as a gift for some great friends who had recently purchased some property on Deer River.

This is my first "lake map" and I hope to make more... Fill with , S sanded to 600 with Abranets and finished in . I'm quite pleased at the end results!!

So I'll digress, here we are, it's Friday. Victoria day long weekend in Canada. For those fortunate to have all 3 days off, enjoy.

I hope you had a productive weekend. It sure was a beautiful one here in south eastern Ontario.

I had some CNC fun over the weekend. These little 10" signs are fun! I'm learning as I go and my firewood bin is full 🙄. But honestly I'm addicted to this machine. It's so intriguing to see a design come to life.

What's really nice is having Dusty work away and I can spend time in the yard playing with my kids.

~It's another throwback Thursday~

I thought I would show a couple hand carved signs I did a few years back. I was pretty pleased and so were my friends I made them for.

These signs are used at camp sites. Of course I made one for us also... I just couldn't find a picture 😉

Did a little dry fitting the other day before this gets a quick hand sand and glued together. Yes my anxiety is elevating... So many pieces to come together. And don't even get me started on paint...I really dislike painting.

My attempt at making a toy. I think this little fella turned out alright. He was made for a good friend when they had their son. One of those "why don't I make more of these" projects?

It was definitely fun. Do you ever say to yourself, I should make more of those??

Happy Monday, for me it's my first day back to work from parental leave. It's bittersweet...but I digress.

I finished up this quick little project for my sister last week. She wanted a blanket ladder, she got a blanket ladder 😉

I must say, I looks good right next to a original!

🪚What's on your bench?

I'm laying out this coat rack and eventually matching shoe bench. I'm using different materials for this one. This coat rack is made from "Extira", which is a waterproof high density fibre board.
I decided on this material because it is very stable and paints well, as this will be painted.

I'm excited to see it come together. However, I'm still trying to decide how it'll to mount it...
