Carefor is a not-for-profit. In the landscape of organizations supporting seniors and people living with disabilities this is becoming increasingly rare. We are an organization led by the community for the community. All the revenue we generate from our services goes into providing care.

Carefor provides support to over 20,000 people across Eastern Ontario each year.
Each client has a reason for seeking our help. Perhaps it's to be more connected, perhaps it's to be able to walk without assistance or it might be to continue living at home.
Whatever the reason, our staff are committed to helping each of our clients achieve their goals. Learn more about how we do this at carefor.ca

Carefor by the Numbers 2023 - 24
Each year, Carefor provides care to over 20,000 people across Eastern Ontario via over 35 different programs and services.
Each one of these numbers is a person who is trying to lead their best life and they need some help to do it. We are proud to be there for each and every one of our clients and their caregivers.
Carefor by the Numbers 2023 - 24
Carefor operates three retirement homes, two in Pembroke and one for women living with dementia in Ottawa's southwest. In them we bring together affordability with community and exceptional care.
Last year, our retirement homes housed 178 residents in our three homes.
Carefor by the Numbers 2023 - 24
Our adult day programs for people living with dementia are a great day out among friends. More than that they give caregivers an essential break from care.
Last year, 542 people attended our adult day programs for a combined total of 18,537 attendance days.
Carefor by the Numbers 2023-24
Carefor Hospice Cornwall is more than a facility that supports people with end of life care. Our staff also offer it in the community!
Last year, Carefor staff provided end of life care to 191 people at Hospice and 405 people in the community.
Carefor by the Numbers 2023-24
Our Allied Health team is comprised of physiotherapists, occupational therapists, dietitians and social workers. Together they help elderly people manage some of the challenges of being able to age at home.
Last year, our Allied Health team had 35,778 appointments in Ottawa.
Carefor by the Numbers 2023-24
Aging can come with many challenges, one of which is ensuring proper nutrition. Our meal delivery program helps elderly people access healthy meals. One more way we're helping people age at home.
Last year Carefor delivered 77,385 meals to 2,721 people across Eastern Ontario.
Carefor by the Numbers 2023-24
"What good is a medical appointment if you can't get to it?" Non-urgent medical transportation is a link for so many people to their healthcare. Our drivers help people get the care they need so they can continue to live at home.
Last year our transportation team provided 53,905 rides to 3,574 people across Eastern Ontario.
Carefor by the Numbers 2023-24
Last year, Carefor PSWs provided 589,190 hours of care to people across Eastern Ontario.
Each visit not only helps someone with their daily living needs, but provides connection and peace of mind.
Carefor by the Numbers 2023-24
Home care visits are essential for people who cannot leave their homes to get care. Last year Carefor nurses made 68,509 visits. That's an average of 188 visits per day!
Home care nursing allows people to age at home, relieves pressure on hospitals and costs far less than hospital stays or long-term care.
Remember why you became a nurse.
Carefor RPNs have the opportunity to connect and to treat knowing each client is their focus. This means less stress, better care and more time for the things that matter to you.

Eva Gelbman lived through some of the most horrific experiences of the 20th Century. She fled Hungary in 1957 with her brother escaping the Russian Revolution. A decade and a half prior to that she lost her parents and four of her five siblings at Auschwitz Concentration Camp. Now 95 and with the help of the daily visits from her PSW, Ma**ca, Eva is living with happiness and love. https://carefor.ca/stories/carefor-psw-helps-client-deal-with-her-past-by-helping-her-today/
