FALL BACK: We thought we would have a little fun with this one - with some inspiration from Internet memes.

Don't forget that clocks will go back one hour Saturday night/Sunday morning. Some clocks will need some help, some will do it all by themselves...and some things just shouldn't be attempted (including moving your home. Don't do that.).

See you all in the spring! :)

HAPPY HALLOWEEN! Mother Nature, it would seem, loves Halloween. The weather looks downright PERFECT for trick-or-treating. Please enjoy the night safely and responsibly. Here are some Halloween safety tips!

🎃Avoid costumes that are too big or have long dangling pieces that children can trip over.

🎃To avoid injuries, let children draw a face or design on the pumpkin and then have an adult carve it.

🎃Go trick or treating with your children each year until they are old enough to go with a friend.

🎃Tell your children not to eat any treats until you have looked them over.

Today SDG Counties was saddened to learn that former Warden, Chris McDonell, has passed away.

Chris was a fixture among local leaders, serving first as a police officer, before making the transition to politics. He was a member of council for the Township of North Glengarry for some 18 years.

Chris entered his first election race in November 2000, when he was elected as a councillor at large. He was re-elected to this position in 2003. In 2006, Chris was elected deputy mayor – a position he held until being elected mayor in a 2012 byelection. Chris remained mayor until his retirement in 2018.

Chris was an active member of SDG Counties Council, culminating in 2009 when he was chosen as Warden for a one-year term.

SDG Counties Council, staff and residents extend their heartfelt sympathies to the McDonell family and friends.
