Why should you care about chronic wasting disease (CWD)?

CWD is a fatal and untreatable disease that affects members of the deer family (deer, elk, moose and caribou), and is a threat to Ontario’s wild deer populations and hunting opportunities.

What can you do to help protect Ontario’s wildlife?
1. help us prevent CWD from entering the province by only using artificial or plant-based attractants and buying locally sourced bait
2. submit your deer for testing if you’re hunting in one of the 2024 CWD surveillance zones
