Great tips for keeping your furry friends safe in the winter

Winter is here, and our furry friends need some extra TLC! ❄️ Keep your pets safe and snug this holiday season.

Krafty Kids - Ages 8 - 12yrs starts January 13, 2024.
Unleash your child’s imagination as they work through a variety of crafts projects from googly eyes to pipe cleaners this is a chance for your kiddos to spend time together using your imagination. Messy Art - Ages: 4 - 7yrs
This preschool art club will include finger paint, play dough, water, and other tactile projects to encourage creativity in your little one. Prepare to make a mess and allow your child's imagination to go wild! These activities to promote socialization, sharing, sensory play, and memories.

Walking Club - starts Jan 8th, at 9:30am
The Town will be offering FREE walking program at the Cornwall Civic Centre every Monday and Wednesday. Did you know walking for 30 minutes per day, totaling 150 minutes per week, is recommended by health authorities to reduce your health risks for heart disease, stroke, diabetes, and other conditions. Come walk with us… This is also a great way to support others as they begin walking programs. Around the World Cooking begins on January 9 for ages 9 - 13yrs.
Kid chefs will get a glimpse of the world through food and learn how to make fun and yummy dishes from 6 different continents. WEE SPORTS begins January 10th. Ages: 4 - 6yrs
This program will introduce your child to the foundational movement skills they need to be familiar with sports. Program leaders will use games, songs, and positive reinforcement, to ensure that your child experiences the joy of learning 6 sports in a comfortable sporty environment. Dear Eliot River Families
A couple of reminders for our final days before the Christmas Holiday.
• Dress Warmly - please send your child with outer winter clothing (coat, snowpants, winter boots, hat and mittens) EVERY day. It has been quite cold the last few days and many of our students are not properly dressed. This is concerning as we have outdoor recess two times a day (20 minutes in the morning/30 minutes at lunch), outdoor activities once a cycle (45 minutes) and, each day, students arriving before 8:15am congregate on the turf. Our fields are wide open spaces, so the wind can be quite bitter. We value fresh air and outdoor unstructured play, so we head outside in all weather and only keep students inside if the threshold of -20 windchill is met. We have lots of spare hats, mittens and scarves, but can also help you source winter coats or snowpants if you are in need. • Grade 4 Christmas Concert - is on Tuesday December 19th. There will be two performances of the entire show to allow grade 4 families to attend (our gym has limited seating). Our grade 5 and 6 choir will also be performing during the show. The show is currently running between 45 -60 minutes. Students are welcome to wear any Christmas performance clothes they wish, unless Ms. Mooney has communicated otherwise to individual classes (via their homework agenda).
o 10am will be for families of 4A, 4B and 4E. Doors will open at 9:40am
o 1pm will be for families of 4C, 4D, 4F, 4G. Doors will open 12:40pm
o Parking: Please feel free to park in the lot off of Hilltop Avenue or the Town of Cornwall lot off of Main Street. Our side parent door (between the gym and activity room) and our lobby door will be open for parents to gain access to the gym.
o Our Cool Kids Care representatives will be collecting food or monetary donations for “Gifts from Heart” in the lobby prior to each performance for any families that would like to donate.
