Things have been challenging for small retail businesses over the last couple years. Small businesses are closing, or selling. I see it on a weekly basis on social media. COVID happened, and things changed. Perhaps people got used to buying online. It is hard to say. The economy has been a challenge, I know.

Your local retail shops are owned by your friends, your neighbors, and your community members. It's important to support them, they are in part a heart of your community.

As I celebrate my 7th year of this little Brick and Mortar, I hope that the years to come begin to flourish, and that consumers begin to see the value of their local shops, in communities here and everywhere.

I celebrate 7 years today, and I hope I can celebrate many more years to come!

You may have heard by now - Paola has sold Rusty Rooster Life•Style. Our downtown business community will not be the same. Paola was a light on Dunsmuir, her easy smile, her upbeat attitude, her caring nature, her style, and her 'Get it Done' work ethic will be missed. Seventeen years at Rusty Rooster - Paola created a beautiful space for shoppers and friends to enjoy. With great conversation, moments to share, and beautiful goods to purchase - it's hard to see her go. All the best to you, Paola, in your new chapter of life. We will miss you. Thanks for all your hard work over the years on the strip.
