Our scope was the flat roof. Self adhered Vapour barrier, 2 layers poly Iso insulation to achieve the required R-value , tapered poly Iso to create 2% slope to drains, asphaltic overlay board and 2 ply SBS, Combined with 24 gauge PVDF perimeter flashing to width stand the elements that a water front property gets hit with.

November is Apprenticeship Recognition Month in BC – an opportunity to recognize our talented apprentices and those who support them.

RCABC is a Designated Training Provider for and provides in-depth, high-quality technical training for BC’s roofing industry apprentices.

We’re committed to making education more accessible by investing in apprenticeship training. Each year, RCABC provides thousands of dollars in bursaries to students enrolled in RCABC’s Red Seal Roofer and Architectural Sheet Metal Worker programs.

And, as governments continue to provide funding to ease the financial barriers employers face to hire and train first-year apprentices, there may never be a better time to take on an apprentice. .

As RCABC celebrates skilled trades workers during Apprenticeship Recognition Month, let us introduce you to one of our top students!

Juan Fraustro was recently awarded Top Apprentice in his Architectural Sheet Metal Level 1 class.

As someone who has always been fascinated by the structural and architectural aspects of buildings, starting a career in roofing was an easy choice for him.

Right now, he’s honing his skills and knowledge in the specialized field of architectural sheet metal and hopes to one day become a certified expert and eventually explore leadership roles where he can manage projects and help ensure the highest standards of quality in his craft.

As he continues his technical training, he’s excited to delve into more advanced techniques and materials to enhance his skills and enable him to tackle more complex projects.

When he’s not roofing, you’ll likely find him playing the piano or going for hikes with his wife and dog.

Congratulations on your success, Juan - we look forward to welcoming you back to the RCABC Training Centre to complete your level 2 education!
