As most of you already know, starting October 4th, we are are required to ask to show proof of vaccination when dining in at our facilities.

Please be kind and patient with the people working at the establishments mandated to ask for this proof. They’re not the ones making the rules and it’s a very stressful situation to be in.

We thank you in advance for your empathy and patience as we all try our best to navigate this new requirement.

It’s that time again for you to Get to Know our Team!

Next up on deck is Colby Veinotte from our Larry Uteck location. He’s been with the company for almost TEN years now! Which is a little wild to think about.

He’s worn many hats over the years but the current chapeau he’s donning is the role of Restaurant Manager and he’s doing a rocking job of it!

We sat down with him for a little portrait session and asked him a few questions so you can get to know him a little better:

WHAT IS YOUR ROLE AT CHEF INSPIRED?

“I’ve been doing a little bit of everything since I started almost 10 years ago, but I'm currently acting as manager for our Larry Uteck location (come say hi!)”

WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE PART ABOUT WORKING HERE?

“The familiar faces of our regular customers and the conversations we share, as well as the opportunities to learn and grow within a company which is as fun as this.”

WHAT INSPIRES YOU?

“My son inspires me to do my best and see the best in everyone each day!”

IT’S LUNCH TIME, WHAT ARE YOU EATING?

“Pulled pork taco-duos is the only answer.”

DO YOU HAVE ANY HIDDEN TALENTS?

“None which are hidden!”

TACO VS. BURRITO. WHO WOULD WIN AND WHY?

“If we're talking 3 tacos vs a burrito then my money is on the tacos.”

IS A HOT DOG A SANDWICH? WHY OR WHY NOT?

“A question that keeps me up most nights. This one is up to the eater of the hot dog!”

“Sunday brunches are always popular in my household!”

“Apple, turkey, cheese and cranberry on a sandwich. Ok, it's not the wildest food pairing, but the flavour is top-notch!”

Our next spotlight is on Thelma Mitchell from our Oromocto franchise! She the prep kitchen supervisor and is an absolute boss! When she’s not spicin' and dicin' she’s ensuring that our customers have an amazing dining experience.

We asked her a few questions that we’d like to share with you.

-What’s your favourite part about working at Chef Inspired?

“The People.”

-What inspires you?

“Knowing our customers are happy with our food and presentation.”

-It’s lunch time, what are you eating?

“Our Honolulu Burger.”

-What’s the weirdest food pairing that you absolutely love?

Dill pickles on grilled cheese sandwiches.

Do you have any hidden talents?

“Wouldn’t YOU like to know?”

SPOTLIGHT TIME!

We'd like you to meet Chef Michael Lombard, our catering manager at Chef Inspired Group. He’s truly one of a kind. EVERY time he walks in the door he takes the time to greet everyone onsite at our production kitchen in Burnside. He's a gem, and always has a well timed joke up his sleeve when it's not rolled up and he's pitching in with his team. We sat down with him and asked him a couple of questions and we got some pretty unique answers:

What’s your favourite part about working here? - “The people. People have come and people have gone, we’ve had some beauty’s stop in and some lifers who continue to row the boat. People that I will have in my life forever, who would bend over backwards for ya.. that’s what it’s all about.”

It’s lunch time. What are you having? - “Parsnip and Pea Risotto with Honey and Sesame Drumsticks.”

Taco VS. Burrito. Who would win in a fight and why? - “Burrito. Burrito sits on taco. (Squashed)”

Is a hot dog a sandwich? Why or why not? “A hot dog is whatever you want it to be. Carte Blanche.”

Do you have any fun family traditions? - “My family and I go apple pickin’ in the fall.

What’s the weirdest food pairing you absolutely love?
- “Capers and (insert most things here)”

There’s a big day happening this Thursday (April 15th). It’s national takeout day! Essentially, it’s an initiative that’s been put together by the Canadian restaurant industry to drive neighbourhood commerce and support local which we’re all about.

After being in business for 9 years and opening multiple spots in the HRM, around Nova Scotia and then expanding to New Brunswick, we’ve amassed a fair-sized team of amazing human beings. Our secret ingredient is our people. Period.

Going forward, we very much would like to introduce you to members of our team so you can learn more about us and so you can put names to faces when you’re in our restaurants.

Our first spotlight is Rupinder. She’s our absolutely amazing Shift Supervisor at our Clayton Park Cheese Curds: Gourmet Burgers + Poutinerie and Habaneros Modern Taco Bar location. She is an absolute tank and will do anything in her power to make sure you have a wonderful dining experience (and that her team does to). We’ve asked her a few questions so you can learn a little more about her:

What is your favourite part about working at Chef Inspired? - “Its hard to choose one particular part, but interactions with different kinds of people boost my self-confidence and I’ve learned a lot of skills like team work, time management, multitasking and many more!”

Do you have any fun family traditions? - “India is a land of diversity and every culture has different traditions. I belong to a Sikh family and we and have numerous traditions. The one that I love the most is going to temple every morning before sunrise and we believe that the girl is the goddess of the house so they are treated as such.”

It’s lunch time, what are you eating? - “My favourite meal is our Taco Duos with refried beans in between the shells with a good amount of lime cilantro sour cream.”

Tell us something about yourself your coworkers may find surprising! “I don’t have that many surprises. However, I can dance really well! My work friends are currently teaching me how to salsa dance!”
