So I realize most of you are in bed (it’s 12:18 am on Nov 1) however I’ve just finished getting the final touches ready for opening the NEW LOCATION today!! I’m so excited I had to share it right this second. Kristina is coming back from mat leave and will welcome our first clients to this calm and serene space. I promise I’ll arrange something in the new year to open our doors to everyone to come and take a look. But until then if you’d like to check it out, you will need to book in with Kristina, Cindy, or Tyree 😊. A special thank you to for helping me through the roller coaster ride of my first major renovation. Now, it’s time for bed 🥱
This is your last chance to get in on our Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada fundraiser! I have designed gorgeous 12 day advent boxes to bright your December, or for anyone you purchase a box for. Adult boxes are $250 and teen boxes are $150 but the value in each is so much more than what you will pay, AND all the profits will be donated 😍. This means you can treat yourself (or someone special in your life) while helping to fund life-saving research for blood cancers (which are more common than you may think in both kids and adults).
Don't wait! The only way to get your hands on one of these very special boxes is to pre-order one. Email [email protected] or DM or order. TIA 🙏🏻.

Sometimes at the end of my day, I feel like I'm not doing enough because of all the things I said I would do but then didn't. Can you relate to this? I go to bed feeling like I'm a failure and promise myself that the next day will be different because I will be different - better, worthy, enough.
I often find it remarkable when others seem to marvel at all I do and accomplish, because that's not what I typically see. I'm too blinded by all the things I haven't done yet but should have. One day I made a conscious decision to focus more of my attention on what I get done in a day rather than what I didn't. It's seems like such a small mindshift and yet it's extraordinary.
The truth is that I accomplish a lot, every single day, and I bet you do, too. Just because something seems little or is just something you do because you have to, doesn't make it insignificant. When I get up before my kids to enjoy a cup of coffee and read for 15 minutes, then get them up with enough time to get ready for school, feed them breakfast, make their lunch, ensure they have brushed their teeth and their hair, have everything in their backpacks they need for school, have written down what dinner will be that day and what activities will be after school, gotten myself dressed and ready for work - if I pretend I'm another person looking in on my life, the truth is that by 8am every single day, I have accomplished quite a lot. Why have I not celebrated this before? Why have I not considered this as part of my self-worth, rather than fixating on the one thing I didn't do like put in my dry eye drops?
So here is my challenge to you - when you notice that your self-talk is telling you that you are not enough, that you're a failure, challenge those thoughts by looking at your day like you are another person, listing all the things that you have actually done. THAT is what matters.
Unplanned, unforgettable, and utterly magical ✨ Flashing back to that enchanting summer night at the beach, with lots of laughter and memories were made with my youngest daughter behind the camera. It's moments like these that I'm so grateful to have. Missing summer? Share your own beach memories in the comments below!
Sometimes you just have to take a leap of faith.
This year has thrown me a lot of curve balls. It seemed like so much came at me all at the same time, but isn’t that how life goes?
Here’s the thing - I am resilient. I am a dreamer and an idealist and still believe I can change the world. Even though the timing isn’t what I expected or planned, I have chosen to follow my heart and trust my gut and take a leap of faith.
I am creating an expansion of and doubling our floor space. I am bringing to life a vision I had right before COVID hit, before all our of lives took a sharp turn. Opening this fall is The IV Experience, a bespoke intravenous and injection therapy boutique for your mind, body, and soul. As we speak, is helping to bring my vision to life, and I can’t wait to share it with all of you. I would love it if you would follow along .
THANK YOU to everyone who continues to support and encourage me. It’s hard to believe that it was over 8 years ago when I started in Ladner Village, renting a single room part-time. How far I’ve come and that is all because of this amazing community.
As a perimenopausal mom running a business, Dr. Lisa knows a thing or two about hormones and stress. A large percentage of people that seek her help are there for hormones or stress and mental health. Many are surprised to learn just how intertwined hormones and stress are. Spoiler alert: if you are perimenopausal or menopausal, your body will be even more sensitive to the effects of stress.
Not a patient of ? You can still learn from her. On Tues Aug 8 from 6 - 7:30pm at Saje Wellness in Tsawwassen Mills, Dr. Lisa will be talking about allllllll the connections, including how hormones change with age. You'll also hear from Nitu Binning, a holistic nutritionist, who will talk about the importance of nutrition to support graceful aging, and Saje store manager, Elaina Greenman, who will talk about natural options for nourishing your body with products from Saje.
Tickets are required to attend this event. You can email Saje assistant store manager, Rylie ([email protected]), to reserve your spot, but don't wait because there is limited space and we're expecting this event to sell out.
There are lots of reasons to see a naturopathic doctor, but there are a few reasons why people choose to see me.
❤️ I am a creative thinker, often seeing things in a way that others don't. I'm asking questions that no one has asked before, and sometimes this is exactly what is needed to put all the pieces together.
❤️ I've worked in healthcare for over 20 years, and started on the traditional side of medicine. This gave me a healthy respect for science, but it left me wanting to connect more meaningfully with patients. I truly care about the wellbeing of others and want to help. Becoming a naturopath has been a dream come true. The work can be so hard, but it's also so rewarding.
❤️ My initial visits are long to give folks the time and space to tell me their whole story. I feel strongly that to know where you're going you have to understand where you've been. So often what you think is causing a problem, is just what's on the surface I want people to feel better forever, not just for the few visits they come to see me for, which means we have to go deeper.
I've just celebrated my 8th year of serving the Delta community. Thank you to everyone that has seen the gifts I offer and supported me along the way. I am truly grateful to be here ❤️
There’s nothing quite like a colorful bouquet of peonies and roses to brighten up my day. They bring me such joy! Especially when they are gifted by a lovely and thoughtful human like Sonia from . I’d love to hear what brings you joy!
to a MUCH younger version of me. There are so many things I would tell this little girl if I could speak to her. What would you tell your younger self?

I always feel nostalgic over the holidays. For me it brings deep reflection of the previous year, and joy and optimism for the year to come. Reconnecting with family is important to me, and in particular sharing stories and memories from childhood. I hope you are able to find joy this holiday season, and I especially hope you have loved ones to share it with. ❤️
Brighten the holidays of a deserving Mamas for Mamas family.
I am filling holiday hampers again for Mamas for Mamas. I know it's been a difficult year for everyone, but low income families have been unfairly impacted by the current state of our economy. I am looking for gift cards (any amount!) for Amazon, iTunes, grocery stores, and gas stations. You can drop them off at Collaborative Wellness in Ladner by noon on Dec 21, or email them to me at [email protected].
Please consider helping if you can ❤️ Also, 5% of the proceeds from our retail items at Collaborative Wellness will be donated towards this worthy cause. If you are looking for amazing holiday gifts, stop by the clinic and check out what we have.
I am in the process of revamping my scheduling to ensure adequate space is available in a timely manner for current patients. Because of this, my schedule is not currently available through online booking. The one thing I can say right now is that I will no longer being seeing patients on Tuesday's. If you have a specific request, please call the office to be put on the waitlist, or add yourself to the waitlist using our online booking. Ensure you have clearly indicated your preferred date and time availabilities, and have selected the appointment type accurately.
In order to improve scheduling, and to allow me adequate time to complete/monitor treatment plans while still maintaining adequate time off with my family, I am also not accepting new patients at this time (EXCEPT children/spouses of current patients). You may call the office to be put on a waitlist if/when I able to take new patients in the future, but there is no estimate for when this may occur. There will be no exceptions to the policy at this time, and I am very sorry for those who had hoped to see me soon. This will also apply for those who have new patient visits booked but choose to cancel their existing appointment. Rebooking will not be permitted at this time.
I appreciate everyone's understanding, and know that I am making this decision to ensure I can continue to provide timely, high quality care to those who are existing patients. If I had the time, I would help everyone, but with three young children and a husband who is out of town for work half of the time, I simply can't do it all. It's also time to make space for nourishing myself, as I encourage all of my patients to do for themselves. I have been continuously amazed and overwhelmed at the support and interest in the services I offer. I want to assure you that Dr. Karly at our office is also an excellent doctor, and has spent a lot of time with me during her training. For those of you looking for a naturopath, I feel confident you will receive high quality care from her. If you have seen me in the past but it has been awhile, that's ok, I still consider you a patient and I'm happy to work with you on whatever is happening for you now.
Thank you for your patience while I work through this ❤️

April is Move More month 🏃🏻 and this has been top of mind for me lately. I found a couple of weeks ago that my heart is pumping normally again following the Takotsubo cardiomyopathy I experienced last fall. Yay! While I had been progressively increasing my activity levels, I was still doing it with some degree of caution while all my follow up testing was being done. Now that I've been given a green light, I've been working on building up my movement and exercise habits again.
Here are some of my personal tips for increasing movement in your (busy) life -
-Park just a little farther away from work, appointments, school
-Walk around the block before and/or after work, an appointment or school (BTW also an excellent way to create boundaries between work and home)
-Do squats while you're brushing your teeth
-Go up and down the stairs in your house or at work 5 extra times a day
-Incorporate your kids, partner, friends or coworkers in planned exercise
-Do 10 jumping jacks before sitting down on the couch to watch TV
I know this stuff sounds simple but I often hear from patients that they forget to do the simple stuff. That is true until you truly prioritize the need and desire to become more active. It's not enough to know it's 'good for you' - you have to want it, and deeply believe it's important.
Any ideas how you can become more active during Move month?
Me, this morning.
Double tap if you can relate!
RMT Kristina has a last minute opening today at 9:10am! Would anyone like it??

THIS. This is basically what I do all day long. I talk to people about how their body is feeling, and what it's telling them that they need. Your body knows how to heal, but our lives are filled with so many noises and distractions that we can't HEAR what our body is trying to tell us. Clear away all the stuff, and the answers are right there.

I can’t even put into words how it felt to be nominated for 2021 Rising Star award from the Delta Chamber. So much hard work that I never expect to be recognized for. I love what I do, I love the clinic that we’ve built, and I love this community. ❤️❤️❤️

Today is International Women's Day and I've spent a lot of time thinking about what this means to me, and what I want to say, especially because this is also day.
The world is a long, long way from gender equality. As proud as I am of what I have accomplished in my life the truth is that I (a caucasian, cisgender woman) still sometimes feel inferior to men. I still compare myself to my male counterparts, try to prove my worthiness to male medical doctors, try to stand beside male business owners and convince myself that I belong there. Why is it that in 2022, the opinion of a man in a position of authority can still count for more than my own?
Gender inequality is built into every layer of modern society, from the institutions that govern our country, provide us care, teach our children, and protect our communities. There are more people that say the right things than there were 50 years ago, but until the foundational structure of our society fundamentally changes, the inequalities will remain.
My truth today is acknowledging I am a strong, capable woman but sometimes I still feel inferior. My goal for this year is to seek out and identify more woman-owned local businesses and financially support these hard-working women. I know that sometimes it's easier to order from Amazon, or it's cheaper at a big box store, but is the trade off really worth it? Will our children and grandchildren still be having these types of conversations about equality in a hundred years? The truth is YES, they will be UNLESS we all commit to change, no matter how small. It may seem insignificant for one person to change where they shop but imagine if we all committed to supporting the people and philosophies that truly align with our beliefs? Those small changes would surely amount to significant shifts.
Here is a shout out to the strong, local women I know who get up everyday and continue to fight for their place in world with courage and compassion. In the comments below I have tagged woman owned and run businesses in the local area. Please add to the list if you know more!
🌟Healthy Apple Cinnamon Muffins🌟
I love opportunities to use food as medicine, and these apple cinnamon muffins have a secret ingredient that makes them 👌🏻. In my experience, most people don't get enough fibre or omega 3 fatty acids in their diet, and BOTH are amazing for helping to support healthy hormones and a healthy, happy mood. These are even great for kids and make a great addition to a school lunch.
What's the secret ingredient, you ask? It's Omega 3 NutraCleanse, a fibre product that contains five plant-based ingredients, and packs a punch in the nutrient department (by the way, this post is not sponsored, so this is my honest opinion!). This product is vegan, gluten-free, low FODMAP, keto friendly AND made in Canada. And the best part is that they post recipes on their website so you can figure out how to best fit it into your diet.
Check out their website for this Apple Cinnamon Muffin recipe. If you want to bump up the nutrition content of them even more, I would suggest using either all or part whole wheat flour. You can also give them a follow .
