YourAlberta (Government of Alberta)

A comprehensive re-entry plan for the upcoming school year in September allows school boards and parents to best prepare for learning under three scenarios while putting students and staff safety first.

While it is likely students may return to daily in-school classes with health measures in September, we will continue to monitor the situation. School authorities will plan for all possible scenarios.

We will share which of the three possible scenario will be in place at the beginning of the school year by August 1:

☑️ First scenario: school will return to near normal operations with some public health measures.

☑️ Second scenario: in-schools classes will partially resume with additional health restrictions that affect operations.

☑️ Third scenario: at home learning will continue.

The health measures for in-school classes include staying home when sick, frequent hand washing and sanitizing before and after entering school and classes, increased cleaning of surfaces at schools and on buses, and physical distancing when possible.

During a global pandemic such as the one we are currently experiencing, food systems can be disrupted and lead to additional food security challenges for communities. There is an opportunity, however, to take more control over the community-level food system. With this toolkit, your community can make short-, medium- and long-term plans for food security using a food systems approach. This toolkit includes ideas, templates, tools and information to support your planning.
