Sturgeon Public Virtual Academy - SPVA
Sturgeon Public Virtual Academy (SPVA) offers daily online live classes taught by Alberta-certified teachers.
We guide students through innovative online learning to grow and feel a sense of belonging.
The SPVA staff are celebrating Pride! 🌈
Pride Week is June 4 - 7! 🌈
A few of our SPVA students were able to attend the STEAM games at Sturgeon Composite High School yesterday!
Our students competed in the Artistic Design and Prototyping challenges at the Jr. High level. While we did not receive a medal for the wonderful sculpture our students made, they did come in second place for the Lunar Lander, affectionately nicknamed Grandma, they created! After the challenges were over, students then explored various stations set-up including the Robotics lab to help with constructing a rover. Lessons were learned and a fun time was had by all!
Wishing everyone a fantastic long weekend! ☀️

Alberta Education Needs Your Input!
As student cellphone use continues to rise in Alberta and globally, it's crucial to assess its impact in our schools. While cellphones can enhance learning when used appropriately, they can also be sources of distraction and safety concerns. Alberta Education wants to hear from teachers, parents, and staff about your experiences and opinions to guide potential next steps.
Join the conversation and help shape the future of cellphone use in our elementary, junior high, and senior high schools. Your feedback is essential!
📅 Deadline: May 3, 2024
