So many frogs have landed!!! Come see them all in-person!

Happy September all! It’s been a hot minute but starting this month we are so pleased to announce the program is back!

We are so excited to introduce you to Laura of Frog Tree. 🐸 🪴

“Hello! My name is Laura and I am the artist behind Frog Tree - a love letter to frogs, herpetofauna and bugs! I started out five years ago in tabletop game design and have branched out into painting, digital art and merch design.

A lot of people ask me “Why frogs?” the answer to which lies in the seasonally flooded back yard of the house where I grew up. Every spring, hundreds of tiny wood frogs would make their way across the wet grass and I’d always go out and watch them or scoop them out of the way of the lawn mower. I was very lucky to have that connection to nature in my backyard and I try to recreate that connection not just for myself, but for others too through my artwork.’

We have an intense amount of cardboard to breakdown after the last couple week’s deliveries. So how about a breakdance competition between all the interview candidates we saw this week, to make our choice easier?!! 🥳😂

All joking aside, we were overwhelmed with how many wonderful people took the time to come by and drop off a resume. It was so hard to narrow it down to who to interview and it will be even harder to decide on only one person. We wish we could hire all of you honestly!! Thank you to all of you!! 💚🪴

A couple of the new Hoyas we've gotten in recently at the shop for this

Hoya Sunrise and Hoya carnosa Nova Ghost.

It's hard to beat the red leaves when the Sunrise gets sun stressed, but the silvery leaves of the Nova Ghost definitely hold their own!

The Bioline Amblyline product contains the Amblyseius cucumeris predatory mite that is a thrip killer with the added benefit of munching on some types of spider mites as well.

We just received fresh stock today and will have them available for a few days.

We got large, long vined baskets of Silvery Anne and gorgeous Episcia Silver sheens. As a side note, both made excellent hairdos.🤣

Monstera Devil Monster will probably be out of reach for most of us for a while still...but it is always nice to dream a little.

We met a lovely lady this week at the shop who wanted to send a couple thank you gifts. She picked some great plants and gifts and asked us to pot them up and deliver them.

We don't have many Scindapsus in stock at the moment, but this pictus exotica is doing a fantastic job of representing the genera.

Spider Wood can add some interesting depth and new surfaces for plants and animals in any viv/terrarium project.

This cool little tropical plant is delicate and fragile looking, but has a unique defense mechanism where the leaves close in when touched or shaken.

It loves light and prefers a fast draining soil.
