It is 2 days before my 1 year anniversary of the day I got my Edmonton business license and officially started the process of working on my own. As I thought about that today, I also contemplated the other ventures started in the past 12 months. I have started learning Spanish with Duolingo; learned to knit with the help of my daughter and some supportive online accounts; joined a book club reading books that I wouldn’t have chosen myself. As well, after teaching for 11 years with someone else, I have taught a class on my own. It has been a good year of trying new things!

It's that time of year... the end of the year is looming, which means your unused benefits will disappear soon. Don't forget to book ahead of time, so that you aren't disappointed by a lack of availability in December, when you really want to fit in those treatments.

With everything going on right now, massage and manual osteopathic therapy do not require anything more than a mask and for you to come in without symptoms. To assist with that, Smage massage's cancellation fees are currently being waived for people cancelling on short notice due to feeling unwell. So if you need a little escape from the outside world, there is a treatment table calling your name.

Yesterday was a busy day. But I had seen a post from saying her donuts were going to be at . So I started the day with some cinnamon sugar and caramel filled donuts; and another London fog! This time I made sure to get a picture of the art work on top!

This week marks 6 months since I started working from my new space! I would like to take this opportunity to say "Thanks" for everyone that has supported me in this endeavor! I truly couldn't have done it without you!
It is amazing to know that seemingly small changes can truly make a difference in one's overall happiness! I hope each of you is making the changes needed in your own life to be as happy as possible!!

Hope you have been enjoying the Spring weather we have been having lately! Keeping active and being able to appreciate the fleeting beauty of the Spring trees and bushes that have magnificent colors that never seem to last long enough before they take on their summery green tones.

Massage and Manual Osteopathic Treatments will be remaining open and by appointment only. I will continue to be open until told otherwise.

As of today, I am now able to add Blue Cross to the list of Insurance companies that I can direct bill for your massage! This is in addition to the other insurance companies that I have been able to direct bill to already. There is no additional fee added to enjoy this service, just a few extra minutes to make sure that the claim has been received.

At this time, manual osteopathic treatments are not eligible for direct billing, you will still receive a receipt that can be claimed under your extended benefits if you have coverage.

Allergy season is upon us... did you know that a Manual osteopathic treatment may help with some of that cranial pressure that you are feeling? And if you don't get immediate relief, you will at least get a chance to relax for an hour.

Spring Break is next week, if you need a break and time to refresh, my table is waiting for you. With this time of the year, outdoor activities tend to increase, if you haven't been taking care of yourself, get in for a pre-activity treatment!

New artwork arrived today for my clinic space and my amazing husband hung it up for me!

Usually offered as a shorter treatment, chair massage is an ideal option for those unable to undress and get on a massage table. The treatment focuses on the back, shoulders and arms.

The wait is over! Starting tomorrow, massage and manual osteopathic treatments can resume without a referral or doctor’s note! Masks, appointments and pre-screening are still required. Along with diligent sanitizing of the treatment space! Check out the services offered on Smagemassage.com, and book online!

Is super excited to announce that as of Monday, Jan 18th, massage and manual osteopathic treatments can resume! There will still be the same masks required, as they have been since we reopened in June, and there will be the same high level of sanitation between each client.
But you can return to your favorite resting position on a massage/manual osteopathic table very soon!
The doctor's note/referral from health practitioners have ended as well, so it is simpler to get in. The only requirement is that the appointment has to be booked in advance.
Please note, if it is your first time at my new location, there will be an online intake form for you to fill out as well.

With the news last week, Massage is able to be reopened. I have been putting the finishing touches on my website. I am excited to share it with all of you! I am currently planning on opening my new location early January, hopefully as early as next Monday.

At this time, Manual Osteopathic Therapy is currently still closed.

With the reopening, there have been some changes to protocols. Unfortunately, clients will require a Doctor's note or a referral from another regulated health practitioner. This will need to be available to me before your treatment begins and will need to be added to your file. This may be something to start looking into before you book your appointment. Masks will still be required during your treatment. Increased cleaning and hand sanitizing will remain in place.

With the government's announcement on Tuesday, I announce that today was my last day in Sherwood Park. My contact information will be updated shortly and will be available as soon as massage and manual osteopathic treatments are able to resume.

In the meantime, I invite you to write to your MLA or the Premier expressing how the closure of massage affects you personally.

The wonderful news is finally here!! Phase 2 businesses can reopen on Friday June 12th! I will be returning to the clinic as of Monday June 15th. Our online booking system will be available on Friday. However, you can call the office to book in now, if you would prefer.

There will be some additional screening steps before your appointment. I will be wearing a mask and apron for your safety.

Credit cards and etransfer will be the only method of payment accepted for now, due to changes in some of the ways we will be doing things.

Massage will fall under Stage 2 according to the recent information from the Alberta government. The tentative date will be mid-June. In the meantime, changes are being made to the way massage will look once we reopen. These changes are being decided by the massage associations, and the clinic management. More information on what that will look like will come once we have a set date. In the meantime, stay safe!

I have not been massaging for a week, as part of a voluntary measure to help combat the spread. As of this afternoon, massage has been closed for all therapists. Once this is lifted, I look forward to seeing you!
