Helloooo Friends! This weekend I went through the process of getting my account verified by Instagram and in doing so I had to change a whole bunch of things. I feel like I’m starting all over here (I know I’m not, it just feels weird 🤣) so I thought I’d do a meet the maker / explain the changes post all at once.

My legal given name needed to be submitted and posted to verify my identity, which is annoying because 1. It’s not correct on my ID.. and 2. I haven’t gone by my given name for a very very long time. I’m told that in 3 days I will be able to change it to my known nickname, but for now… there it is 😅

I also changed my username, which I had no intention of doing anytime soon, to reflect my business name as I could no longer have it in the “Name” space..

So hi! It’s still me here. And a bit about me if your new to LD Nails:

I’ll start with my name, it’s Amburlee Marie Norgren, but people call me Burlee or Bur.

I started what is now LD nails back in 2020 and it really took off through the pandemic. Today I am incredibly grateful to have built a loyal client base that continues to grow each year. Some of my clients have been with me since the very beginning and that’s pretty incredible 🫶🥹

I am very much a hermit, my social battery is very limited so the opportunity to work and run my business from home has been mostly a blessing, but I easily suffer from social media fatigue and feel very overwhelmed by the social/promotional side of running a business all on your own.

While I do live and breathe all things nails, I am not just a nail artist and small business owner. I am a Wife and a Mother, a Daughter, a Sister and a Friend. These past 4 years have been a big struggle for me to find the balance between all of these things but I think I’m on the right path today.

I have a wonderful and supportive husband who unfortunately is away more than he is home as he works contract jobs out of town. And I have an absolutely incredible 6 year old daughter. When I’m not working I’m focused on enriching her young life as much as I can.
