The bike was stolen at 6AM and was recovered and returned to us by 11:31AM. We are extemely thankful the City of Edmonton Police for their work. We also really appreciate the diligent attention of everyone in the Facebook community who assisted by helping to make the connection.

This was a customer's bike and this event really highlighted for us how important security is and how big of a responsibility we take on when customer's entrust their bikes into our care. We want to assure you all that we will be reviewing our current security protocols to make sure we are doing as much as possible to protect not only our store and its inventory but also all of the bikes in for repair. Today's breakin resulted in very little loss but we know it could have been far worse. We are fortunate that this is the first time in over 17 years that we have had a break in and we hope it is the last. We are already investigating further security steps moving forward.

This bike was stolen from Element in the course of a breakin here at 5:46AM.

The bike is registered on BikeIndex.org but does not have a sticker. The serial number is F091200141 and it is stamped onto the underside of the bottom bracket.

The bike has a white seatpost and white handlbars. Having pointed out those two unique features, we are aware that bike thieves are often swap parts and re-paint bikes (albeit very crudely) in order to hide their identity.

We have a real piece of triathlon history on display at Element. This one isn't for sale at this point for a host of reasons but it is a beauty that deserves to be seen. For now, it is here on the floor. Wall mounted artwork sounds like a good goal for winter.

Cheetah frames were each individually made to the riders specifictations and size and only about 100 were made. Between 1998 and 2005, every Ironman Hawaii women's title was won on one of these. Notably, each of those race was one by either Switzerland's Nathascha Badmann (1998, 2000-2002, 2004, 2005) or Canada's Lori Bowden (1999 & 2003).

This new goggle from SwimSecure is proving to be a real winner. What runs through your head when you are running hard near the end of a race? This is a list from one of my all-time favourite bands. If you can know who it is, you know how awesome they are. No worries, though, since this is just an example. What is your list?

N+1 is one of those IYKYK sayings among cyclists. If you aren't ITK, N+1 is the simple answer to the question: how many bikes is enought or too many (there are a few variations of the question)? Tips for staying better hydrated in hot weather:
1. Drink more. Yes, you probably knew that. Use that knowledge to help you stay on your hydration game. Instead of just one bottle every hour, try to take in one bottle every 30 to 45 minutes, depending on conditions and your sweat rate.
