I guess I have never formally introduced myself on here. Hi! I'm Jaida Edjericon, a Dene beader from the spectacular NWT. I have lived in Fort Smith and Yellowknife growing up, but I have lived in Edmonton since late 2016. I am a member of the Deninu K'ue First Nation and my mother is a part of the Athabasca Chipewyan First Nation. Despite living so far, I still get extremely homesick for the north and stay close with my family- especially my aunties.

I have always been a creative person and love to experiment with painting, makeup, clay, and creative writing. I already had experience beading since childhood thanks to my grannies but my passion was re-ignited when my auntie at .designs taught me how to bead again in 2020, as it was covid and she was in my bubble 🫧🪡. Since then I don't think a full few weeks have passed without me doing beadwork. My first market really encouraged me to go further with my beadwork, and since then, I have pushed myself even further out of my comfort zone.

My favorite days are the rainy ones, warm inside my home with my three cats, just beading away while watching a movie. 🌧🐈🎬

Ever since I could remember, my mother has made holidays special for me. No matter the weather, financial situation, or if it was just her and I- She has always made holidays magical. When I think of cranberries I think of this VERY old christmas candle we have had since I was small being lit around the holidays and the smell of cranberries and pine. I might be 26 now, but my memories of Christmas spent with her are still some of the happiest for me. I made her this pin to be put on a hat or a shirt year round. Thank you for being the best mom..
