Red Devil Woodworks
Hello. I am a currently serving member of the Canadian Armed Forces that loves woodworking.
Welcome planter is done (minus the hanging planter for now)
Latest cedar planter is done and it’s a big one. 72 inches in length, 2 feet in depth and 38 inches width. Made with 1x6 cedar and 2x4 for the framing and legs. More available upon request as this one goes to its new home tomorrow.
Latest planter done and off to its new owner.
First little bowl is done. Made from maple with no stain.
It’s that time of year again. I’m taking orders for planters again this summer. I am located in NE Edmonton, but will deliver or meet up. The two most popular were the 2 tier vegetable planter ($150 for this size which is 61 1/4 inches in length, 22 1/2 inches in height (not including the legs) and 23 1/4 in width/depth. ) and the large flower planter ($130 this size which is 39 inches in length. 17 1/2 inches in height and 19 1/4 inches in width). If you have specific dimensions just let me know what they are and I’ll build to accommodate, but the price will have to be adjusted. Anything over $200 will require a deposit as I will have materials cost, and I was burned once last summer.
.
These two will be next…
Todays project. Finally got to my comic book shelves. This is just part one of the sliding shelves.
Finished off the farmhouse side table. First one I’ve ever done, so a lot was learned. Top shelf is 1x6 treated lumber and the bottom is 1x6 cedar.
Another ladder planter done and awaiting pick up from its new owner.
Birthday gift for my Mother-In-Law. This one was different than the original. This one was about 4ft in height and 22 inches in width. The boxes are 13 inches from the base and separated by 12 inches. The bottom angle was measured from the side at 15 degrees and the top was cut from the end at 20 degrees. Not stained just burnt.
New vegetable raised planter is already at its new home. Made with 1x6 cedar this one is shorter that the original. The original is 5 ft in length whereas this one is custom at 42 inches. It is 22 inches in height and the sides are 21 1/4 in width at the bottom. $150 with the same legs on this one (2x4 cut to 3 inches). $180 if you would like lockable casters in place of those, for ease of movement.
New toy purchased today.
Another cedar planter completed. Just waiting to go to it’s new home tomorrow afternoon.
Well. These four have found a new home.
Built 4 cedar planters tonight. Buyer picks them up tomorrow.
Culmination of the weekend for me. Part one of the trellis is done, and dug in. I had a base built, but decided to dig it in instead. Next up will be staining and the inner portion.
Oh look. More sanding. Lol.
So much sanding today. Started with 40 grit and then 80 grit. Tomorrow will be bracing and digging holes for the post, and securing them to the planter, and add the lights. Oh. Also more sanding. Lol
Next project has begun.
The big one is finally done. 60 inches in width, 30 in length and approximately 30 in height. I’ll gladly make more too.
Gonna be a big planter. Frames done. Laying out the bottom of the planter. Tomorrow I’ll put on the legs, bottom boards, upper supports and upper boards.
Next planter up. It’s a big one too.
Planting season is almost here. Make your orders soon in order to be ready for the season.
Final glue up is done on this board (for now lol). Should be ready for handles and legs tomorrow.
Another planter done. These are fore order. They are priced at $30. Burned 1x6 cedar. Three drain holes in the bottom. About 20 3/4 inches in length, 6 inches in height, 5 3/4 inches in width and 5 1/4 inches in depth. The mitre is cut on a 33 degree angle from the back of the planter. Plus that’s not stain it’s all burnt wood.
Next project up is another charcuterie board. This time with Medieval Walnut and White Oak.
First attempt at box/finger joints. Meh. They’re ok for now. Lol.
New charcuterie board. Walnut and Maple. Took a bit to finish, but it’s done. Smaller than the first one I did, which is Walnut and Cherry. Woodworking For Beginners
Planter #2 was completed last summer. It was used for vegetables and did very well. It is 5 ft in length, approximately 24 inches in height (depending on the legs you want) and 23 inches in depth. This one was stained and lined. For this year I will have trim added to hide the interior supports. Planter season is coming soon. Please contact for pricing and customization.
