We took a bit of a break to work on our form and Concentration. We are back in the gym now and better than ever!

You don’t have to give up the foods you love to lose weight.

However I will say this: measuring your food is a game changer, rather than blindly following macros on an app (something I’ve done for a while).

& Putting healthier choices together like this, makes a big difference.
I don’t get junk food cravings anymore because I figured out ways to incorporate foods into my already tight caloric budget.

Don’t deprive yourself, but be mindful 😄

Feeling great! Heading into week 4 of my weight loss phase.

I’m not going to sit here and pretend that existing within a caloric deficit is easy.
It takes an incredible amount of discipline, self control and stress management.

It’s not easy, a lot of people struggle with it.
How I’m able to stay in such a good mood is my reason “why”.

Y’all have seen me, I’ve been on the weightloss train for 8 years or more now. Misguided before, doing what I’ve never done now.
I’ve wanted this for a long time and I’ve never been as dedicated as I have in the past year.

I’m ready to see what’s underneath.
Where all the hard work and sacrifice has been going and I’m fortunate to have been blessed during this season.

I am learning so much about myself in this season of my fitness journey.

I’m learning:
Patience;
Things/ feelings that trigger my eating disorder & health problems;
Reevaluating my choices/ seeing where I’ve been cheating;
Self control & How to not binge;
Learning to love food again,
And cooking;

Last 3 are huge for me.

I haven’t enjoyed cooking or found joy in eating for years. And I have always had problems with bingeing.
But I’m pulling these habits out at the root of the problem.
It’s only been a few weeks but I’m already seeing huge differences.

I’m so thankful for this path I’m on and the guidance I have been receiving aswell. 🥰

As I near the end of my 29th birthday, I can’t help but count how God has blessed my life.

I never would have thought this time last year, how much would change in my life in just a short amount of time.
28 was great!
➡️With the help of my coaches, I started the process of healing and reversing my PCOS condition and shifted my mindset from weightloss to hypertrophy.
➡️I got married to my best friend, who also made numerous changes in his life and mine.
➡️We started going to church, which has been amazing. I’ve finished reading the bible already, and going through again.
➡️I started homeschooling my kids.
➡️My body has started functioning normally, which is something I never thought I’d see.
➡️Unexpectedly had to move again, but it turned out to be just what we needed
➡️Building my training buisness
➡️Rediscovering my love for cooking and creativity
➡️Started a garden after 3 years of not gardening- this makes my heart so happy
➡️I started reading again
➡️I’m fortunate my husband has an amazing job where I can stay at home
➡️I’m spending more time outside again, which I avoided a lot in the past few years
➡️Anxiety and depression is almost a thing of the past
➡️Now that my body is working again I can start a new weight loss journey and I’m so excited.

There’s so much to be thankful for and I really would not have guessed that I’d be saying these things today.
After struggling with depression for so long, I have to say it’s so refreshing to want to get out of bed in the morning and tackle the day.

Being 29, I don’t feel old. I feel the healthiest I’ve ever been, physically and mentally. I don’t look down on getting older, I just feel more comfortable and confident with myself than ever before and I look forward to growing into the person I’m meant to be every year 🥰

Hello, my name is Kara, I’m a fairly new personal trainer with a variety of services, as you can see in the pictures above.
I have opened up my availability and would love to start working with more clients.
Im working out of Evolve Strength North Edmonton or I offer online services aswell!

I like to think of myself as positive, quirky and fair minded. I bring my dog Otis with me most times to the gym, your welcome to bring yours (or your kids) too!
I’m working on my own fitness journey aswell, so we will definitely be in this together!
I don’t believe in burning you out in your first days of your workouts, I want you to enjoy yourself while still getting results
I listen to what you say, I won’t ask you to do something you don’t want to do or hate doing.
I want to help you feel good mentally and physically.

All my programs come with a free consultation- this is where we meet and greet and go over your goals, and then the first session after that is on me!

What I offer is:
In-person training sessions
➡️ I’m currently working out of Evolve Strength North Edmonton, absolutely wonderful gym atmosphere and first week is free.
➡️ Pricing varies, based on how many sessions you want per week, I offer a discount in price with the more sessions you want.
➡️ On top of receiving some fun in person guidance, this includes a customized fitness program to your goals, nutritional coaching, pictures and videos of yourself and progress (as requested), weekly check ins and so on!

Online training
➡️ This includes workout programs you’d like to do yourself, at home or in the gym.
➡️ Weekly check ins-phone, text or video
➡️ This may be More if an economical approach $ wise- although no benefits of In person training.
➡️ Video assessments

🌟Mix of In-Person and Online
➡️ This is the most bang for your buck. You will receive 1-2 days in person and the rest of the program you finish on your own time.
➡️ This program allows you to get the best of both worlds and saves you a bit of money in the process.
➡️ Gym days we focus on anything you need assisted and corrected so you can optimize your workouts.
Your Non-trainer days will fill in the gaps of your program.

I’m so excited 😄

I’ve been working on creating mini printable units for parents to do with their kids, to teach them about healthy eating and nutrition
🥦🍎🍆🍊🫑🍋🥕🌽

Whether you homeschool or send your kids to school, these sheets are fun and easy little project to do with your children.

I just finished my first one in this series: Food Groups!
This one is for ages: 5-8
It’s 10 pages of basic food group information, including: spelling, colouring, drawing, reading, cursive work and a graph!

I’ll be working on units for older children as well as other topics aswell.

This is super exciting to be able to offer now, especially at such a low price, as I want to make sure it’s affordable for everyone, im not doing this purely for money. 😌

I get a lot of questions like.. “why do you lift so heavy?”

Short answer: Because I like it 😜

I started my weight loss journey years ago. I tried everything.
Pills, home workout dvds, shakes, wraps. You name it.
The thing they all had in common was: I would get to a certain point/weight, and my progress would stop. 🚫
There’s only so far those things brought me, and also I would allow myself to only go so far, while looking down a narrow path.

Since I started actually weight lifting, I push myself way harder and beyond what I thought I was capable of, and the fun part is, I consistently prove myself again and again, that I can do MORE.
my progress has shot significantly past where I’ve ever been before, I feel a million times more confident and results simply don’t lie.
People recognize me and my progress in the gym and have been watching me for a while and there’s a whole community of people that support me.
My mindset has completely changed and I’m more in tune with my body than ever before.
I like feeling strong and watching how I can utilize my strength in every day life. I like feeling capable.

Theres so much more I could say.

I’m not training for a competition or anything like that. Im not showing off. Im not trying to become a huge muscle bound lady.

Im simply doing this because I like it.

And because I like what I do, I also like the work that I do and I love to help people feel the same way 🥰

I got some new, young little clients added to the list!
Workouts are so much fun with a friend 👧🏼👧🏻

Today we started on some basic foundational training: squats, step ups for balance, lunges, frog jumps, even some planks and push ups!

Around the age of 10-11 is a great time to start working out!
They will be able to build a healthy relationship with exercising as they grow which = a healthy lifestyle.
It also teaches discipline, perseverance and confidence in themselves.

These little ladies will grow trusting their bodies and what they can do for themselves.
So proud of them, was a great first day! 😄

Chin ups can be a overlooked exercise for a lot of people, it can be off putting or make you feel discouraged if you can’t get yourself up there.
I know I’ve never imagined being able to do them.

It’s such a great workout to strengthen your whole upper body though so don’t pass these up! And modifying with a strong resistance band to be able to achieve full range of motion.
As you get stronger, lower the band until eventually you’ll be doing these with no band.

You gotta work up to the big stuff, non of it comes easy, and it’s not supposed to. This is where you find joy in discipline. 😄
