There was one time in my life where this wasn’t true📖I was 19 and I decided to backpack Australia and South East Asia for a year.And like most 19 years olds, I had a ton of fun…. So much fun that I gained weight.🏡 When I came home, I turned to dieting to try and lose that weight.And all of got from those diets was:👎24/7 obsessive food thoughts👎disordered eating habits👎low self confidence👎intense sugar cravings👎irritability and moreAnd my weight never changed.I spent 2 years living in what felt like hell 🔥Until I stopped restricting and decided to just live life. It was a sriracha mayo kinda day 🤣But that’s the beauty of Food Freedom…I know not everyday is the same. And I don’t hyper fixate on trying to make them the same.Your eating is supposed to ebb and flow, especially women.☀️Some days you will crave more carbs, some days more fat, some days more veggies— and when you can lean into trusting your body. It craves a variety!The biggest shift that worked for me was getting out of my head.Letting go of the food rules allowed my scarcity thinking to stop which then stopped my hyper desire for “all the bad foods”.It allowed me to be able to effortlessly stop eating when I am full because I know I can have this food again - whenever I want!Hence why a cookie was enough today and I enjoyed a bit of ice cream and not the whole pint.OLD me would have eaten so many of the cookies (if I had let myself have one) - not being able to stop. And then still eaten the whole pint of ice cream because “I screwed up”.☹️ All because I was so in my head about food.And didn’t trust my body. And thought that food was the problem.‼️I am here to say, that doesn’t have to be the case for you. Eating can be easy AND enjoyable!💜You just need to heal from all the food rules and restriction that have been running the show!If you agree! If you wait until you are HANGRY— you have waited too long!Here is why this matters 👇Think of hunger and fullness like a pendulum that swings back and forth.⚠️When you miss your early hunger cues and wait too long to eat, the pendulum has swung too far and therefore wants to swing far in the other direction.‼️Which is far into your fullness…. Meaning you are way more likely to over eat! As a millennial woman- the low calorie,low fat, low sugar craze ruined my cooking.(Let me know if you feel the same)👉🏻because I was told to limit sauces, limit added fats, don’t cook with salt…. All this things that made a meal actually taste good!And guess what‼️Cooking like that made me over eat AND increased my cravings!Because the food was lacking in SATISFACTION! And when it comes to eating you have two buckets: a fullness bucket 🪣 and a satisfaction bucket 🪣.And you can be physically full but if you’re not satisfied- hello cravings!🙊this is why volume eating doesn’t work!So when I made the shift to make meals that actually taste “oh my gosh yum” PLUS paired it with Empowered Eating skills = no more over eating or evening cravings.And my overall my intake was shifted down to what my body needed by eliminating all the extra eating that was happening due to a lack of satisfaction 💅💫So this is your sign to let go of that unnecessary fear when it comes to your cooking, make meals that taste delicious and tune into your Intuitive eating skills! #sugarcravings #emotionaleating #overeating #cravings #dietculturedropout #nutritiontips
