⁉️ Why does the gel lift from the nail plate, and why does the nail itself become sensitive to touch?

Our nail consists of three layers: dorsal, intermediate, and ventral.

▫️ The dorsal layer is the upper protective layer of the nail that we see daily.
▫️ The intermediate layer is covered by the dorsal layer and consists of not fully keratinized keratin.
▫️ The ventral layer is located beneath the intermediate layer and is composed of soft keratin.

The coating can only adhere to the keratinized layer (dorsal layer of the nail).
Over-filing the top layer disrupts the conditions necessary for the material to adhere to the coating.
The intermediate or ventral layers are too soft and flexible to hold the nail coating.

🔹Reasons for damage to the dorsal layer:

❌ Using an unsuitable drill bit (for example, removing a coating that was applied with a base gel using a gel removal drill bit);
❌ Applying pressure to the drill bit while removing old coating;
❌ Using an unsuitable nail file;
❌ Excessive filing of the nail with a file.

❔How to fix it:

If the top layer of the nail is already damaged, the correct solution would be ✅ to completely refrain from any coating until a healthy nail grows back.

❓Nails Growing Downwards - What to Do?

▫️ One common issue that prevents the growth of long nails is a nail plate that grows downwards.

▫️ As the nails grow, the coating stays in place, but the natural nail bends downwards and to the sides of the nail plate, leading to cracks.

❌ No, this does not occur because you’ve done something wrong with your nails.

The cause of such nail growth is genetic 🧬

❓ So, what can be done to grow long nails in this case?

✅ Using the correct gel nail strengthening technique can correct the nail’s architecture and evenly distribute the material’s load along the nail’s length.
▫️ And, of course, after reinforcing the nails with gel, it is necessary to file down the natural nail to ensure your coating remains durable and crack-free.

As a professional manicurist, ensuring the safety and health of my clients is my top priority. That’s why I follow a rigorous three-step sterilization process for all my tools. Here’s how I do it:

1. **Disinfecting Soak:** 💧 First, I soak all the tools in a powerful disinfecting solution. After thorough soaking, I rinse them under running water to remove any residue.

2. **High-Temperature Drying:** 🔥 Next, the tools are dried in a specialized disinfecting cabinet. They are subjected to a temperature of 80°C for 30 minutes, which eliminates any remaining microbes.

3. **Sterile Packaging and Final Sterilization:** 🛡️ Once dried, the tools are carefully packed in special sterilization bags. These bags keep the tools sterile while they are stored and are only opened in front of the client for guaranteed freshness. Finally, the tools go through another round of sterilization in a machine at 60°C for 180 minutes.

Additionally, I use disposable files for each client, which you are welcome to take home after your manicure. 📦🎁

❗️ Poor preparation: Before applying gel polish, it's important to ensure that the nails are clean, dry, and free of oils and other contaminants. Neglecting this step can result in a weaker bond between the polish and the nail, causing it to chip or peel more easily.

❗️ Incorrect application: Applying gel polish incorrectly, such as using too thick a layer or not curing it under a UV lamp for the recommended time, can cause the polish to lift or peel more quickly.

Regular cleansing and moisturizing 🧼
Start by thoroughly washing your hands with warm water and soap, then use a hand cream or lotion to moisturize the skin and prevent dryness.

Gentle cuticle removal ✂️
To do this, first soften the cuticles using a special oil or cream, then gently push them back with an orange stick. Trim the cuticles only when necessary and very carefully.

Nail shape and length 💅
Choose a nail shape and length that suits you best. Use scissors or a nail file to adjust the shape and length.

Nail polishing ✨
To give shine and smoothness to the nail plate, use a polishing block or buff. This will improve the appearance of the nails and prepare them for polish application.

Applying polish and decorations 🎨
Choose your favorite polish and apply it carefully, starting at the base of the nail and moving towards the tip. Let the polish dry completely, and then, if desired, add decorations or additional layers to create a unique design.
