On a cool and rainy day we went outside, the toddlers enjoyed splashing in the puddle before a good walk around the daycare, the infants enjoyed a stroll around the parking lot, the preschoolers had business as usual.
The cheers of the children filled the air, they sounded different than usual, like an extra touch of excitement was added to their play.

Discovering children's experiences: IT WAS JUST A BOX
YET children had FUN, also GROSS MOTOR ACTIVITY, CREATIVE APPROACH, PROBLEM SOLVING, COOPERATION, COMMUNICATION, LEARN TO TAKE TURNS, SATISFY CURIOSITY AFTER OBSERVATION. It was just a box, yet we covered it, made holes and children played with it for a very long time, after a month they were still showing interested in the boxes. The other toys? not a glance at them.

Ramadan Kareem. During the month of Ramadan, the children built a Mosque. Using recycled materials, they helped designing the Mosque where we pray, helped cutting through its walls, roll paper, paint, glue, have fun.

Recycling! Yes it is important to recycle for the environment and the children love the new texture, color and shape of this new medium. They were so excited!

I wanted to share with you a moment of display of Friendship and Care for each other and learning.
I walked into the preschool room today and stopped by two children that seemed very immersed in their play. I watched them a little then asked what was that they built. I was surprised to hear that they built the house for the animals and the people and one of them even built an airplane with pilot for the other friend. (you can see the plane and the pilot on the top right corner). Yes that is the plane, a white box and the pilot. And amazingly enough, they also had a standby pilot outside the plane. They were ready to fly from House to House. They used the correct terminology for the pilot and its duties. (Amazing)
We had covered the topic of transportation a few months ago and talked about various method of transportation (in particular cars, planes and boat). We kept it simple but used the correct terminology for each topic.
Children surprise, even when they do not seem to listen, they absorb information. this moment captured in the preschool room is an example of how they learn and display their learning.
As a parent don't despair when the child walks away or does not seem to listen. they hear you, just do not know how to tell you.

The Flight Curriculum Documentation Series
A Simple Nature Adventure with Our Daycare Explorers!
Yesterday, our daycare children embarked on a delightful nature exploration without any fancy tools, just pure wonder in their eyes!

They stumbled upon a lovely ladybug, gently holding it with little leaves as their hands cradled this tiny creature of nature. Their faces lit up with amazement as they watched the ladybug crawl across their mini leaf bridge.

Sometimes, it's the simplest moments that bring the most joy.
Our little adventurers may not have used magnifying glasses, but they discovered the magic of nature in their own special way.

But the discoveries didn't end there!
A lively grasshopper leaped into their view, showcasing its impressive jumping skills. The children were absolutely thrilled to witness these incredible creatures up close.

Exploring nature is not only fun but also a fantastic way for our little ones to learn about the world around them. We're so proud of their curiosity and enthusiasm for the great outdoors!

We cherish these precious moments of wonder and exploration as they remind us that sometimes, all you need is a bit of curiosity and the great outdoors.

Stay tuned for more adventures as we continue to nurture their love for nature.

FALLING LEAVES ALL AROUND US!
What an exciting moment, playing in the playground full of leaves, exploring the surrounding and imagining!

At play, children learn to make their thinking visible, build theories about how the world works, and practice skills and dispositions for inquiry, negotiation, and problem solving. (Flight, pag. 100)
Children affinity to nature, of which they are part, provides a basis for understanding and questioning the place of humankind in nature and for developing the knowledge, skills and dispositions to contribute to the development of sustainable future. Children develop a sense of wonder and appreciation for the natural world: Bringing all their senses to exploring nature.
Taking pleasure in natural beauty
Connecting to and respecting the natural world.
They also recognise patterns, regularity, repetition and changes in nature. They name and record natural phenomena. (Flight. Pag 112-113)

They develop a sense of social responsibility, cooperation, connections and discovery.

Apple season is coming to an end and we are showing off our very own apple tree, seed, apples. The children experienced the joy of seeing a seed planted one month ago grow into a nice plant. We talked about seeds, apples and extended the talk to other similar fruits that bear seeds, explored the texture of the apple, its flavor, its shape.

let's start a collection of the foods served in daycare. June 16 2023 this morning we had milk and cake in the morning snack. for lunch we had pizza on toast with vegetables. In the afternoon they will have cheese and crackers in the afternoon.

The children love the pizza on toast, they had at least two slices each, ate all the cucumbers and carrots.
No need to say that they all ate the cake and milk as well and had enough energy to play outside and inside.

Today's lunch, homemade salad and rice with chicken and carrots.
