Had a blast at Lifestyle Medicine Conference representing ! 🎇
Some of the things I heard at the conference when I was talking with other healthcare providers:
*️⃣ Automated personalized lifestyle care plans can add huge value to clinic workflows
*️⃣ is not alone in the industry in the challenges we experience with convincing other healthcare professionals that a holistic lifestyle approach to patient care is how we improve patient outcomes while decreasing the burden on clinicians
*️⃣ Lifestyle medicine is an incredibly powerful approach to supporting patients in all aspects, but especially in chronic disease management
*️⃣ Clinicians using a lifestyle medicine approach are among the most tenacious and authentic people I’ve talked to
I can’t wait to see where this can go with the connections we made!
Time to get to work and show more clinicians what we can do to support them in their work 💪

You can’t see it, but there was no snow on the ground when I took this picture, and it wasn’t cold outside!
I suppose it’s nice to have a warm place to lift. But nowadays, it’s a 20-minute trek in the cold to get to the gym! With a 1-hour workout, that makes the round trip like 4 hours…right?
Did you know: some common plant milks don't have as much vitamin D as they used to!
At one point, the amount of vitamin D in this Silk soy milk (technically called a fortified plant beverage) was 45% daily value. Now it's only 10%!
The solution? Add in some vitamin D drops to whatever you are using. No change in taste but this will significantly increase the vitamin D content! I use the brand AOR.
For the vegans out there, it is good to be aware of the sourcing of your vitamin D supplement! Many of the supplements on the market come from lanolin, which is a waxy substance that comes from sheep. The plant version comes from lichen, which is the same form of vitamin D as what would be in other supplements (vitamin D3).
We made some lentil seitan burgers recently and DANG are they delicious. Great for the BBQ...or oven...or where ever you want to cook them!
A good tip: adding lentils to the mix prevents the burgers from ballooning like seitan would normally if it’s not wrapped in foil.

Quick Plant-Protein Option!
For those that don't consume meat, fish, or poultry, you might find that you get in a rut of being bored with the protein options available. I love beans, but sometimes I need a change!
I would suggest trying seitan - this made from a product called vital wheat gluten. Yes, straight gluten 😳. It is something that is super easy to make and can be flavoured in countless ways!
Wait until you see what sauce we put with it 😏.
It turns out looking a bit like a tube of salami, but don't be alarmed. It won't have the same texture or taste!

True or false: dietitians only focus on nutrition when working with patients/clients.
This is a hard FALSE!
This is something that has always confused me; people think dietitians only work on meal plans, only help people who are in a hospital, and they don’t help people navigate their health in a holistic way. All not true!
Dietitians are found in many places! Grocery stores, hospitals, schools, and in businesses like Revive Wellness. Heck, they even work on creating ground-breaking health apps (**cough**... ).
I love talking about the whole person who is sitting in front of me! I get to know the whole person and help them navigate all life’s curve balls while on the journey towards meeting their goals.
Let’s be real here...you think I went to University for 5 years just to hyper-focus on one aspect of people’s lives and ignore other things that indirectly affect that aspect, all the while essentially doing people a disservice?
This year our tomato 🍅 plant decided to produce a LOT of tomatoes 🍅🍅🍅🍅!
We have been getting a tomato plant for a few years now - mostly because that is the only plant we can have on our balcony that will grow. If only we lived in a house and had a backyard 🤔
These might not even make it into any recipe 😁. Just eating them straight up 😍
