In 2019 Statistics Canada released information on the number of Canadians with Seeing Disabilities.

5% of Canadians over the age of 15 have a seeing disability. 1 in 20 Canadians. Can you imagine if the DTC could change the lives of a MILLION People?!

Statistics Canada says 18% of Canadians aged 15 and over, meet criteria for a mood, anxiety or substance abuse disorder.

All of which may qualify for the DTC!

You do NOT need a diagnosis to apply for, and be approved for, the DTC. Its all about how your impairments impact your ability to perform your Activities of Daily Living.

In 2021 Statistics Canada announced that 60% of Canadians aged 19-79 have some sort of hearing health problem. Thats 6 people for every 10 in that age group. Thats a huge number!

As of 2020, Statistics Canada says just shy of 10% of Canadians have a mobility impairment? Thats 1 for every 10 Canadians!

Statistics Canada also estimate 20% of those with mobility impairments consider themselves housebound. IMO that is not something an impaired person should be dealing with.

The Disability Tax Credit (DTC) offers tax relief for persons with impairments, including mobility. This can help offset costs associated with being impaired - including transportation.
