Peperomia hispidula - Incredibly cool addition from the ! This thing is tiny but such amazing detail on the leaves. Had a fantastic time exploring the show and learning yesterday. The show is still on today if you are in Edmonton.

Prosthechea (Encyclia) radiata - An absolute favourite orchid for the windowsill. Blooms each year like clockwork and has an amazing tropical fragrance. The unusual upside down flowers are awesome as well. 🍃

Homoeomma chilensis - Finally its first little patch of red! This is 1.5 years of growth from a 1/16” sling. Now maybe the size of a nickel. The water dish is a single lego square.

Cleaning day shots of an adorable little dalmation crestie that hatched here a few months ago. Love seeing the spots developing as this one grows. 😎

Into happy plants today apparently. This is a Syngonium podophyllum ‘mini pixie’ growing in a patch of Christmas moss.

We love how terrariums evolve over time providing a ton of interest. Some really neat moss growth happening here among the Lepanthes leaves.

Microgramma are quickly becoming a favourite of ours. This variety is Microgramma vaccinifolia and has stunning small leaves and a fuzzy branching rhizome.

NEW PRODUCT - Leaf Litter Tannin Blend is a 50/50 mix of our two favourites varieties for tadpole tea and for aquariums. Indian almond is an extremely popular variety for blackwater aquariums which produces great tannins. Jack fruit is a less common variety known for its anti fungal properties.

R reticulata hunting for food in the leaf litter. These guys are stunning but so tiny and do not sit still for pictures often.

Microgramma ciliata - One of our favourite mini ferns. This is a beautiful species with tiny leaves that spreads along your background or along branches from a delicate fuzzy rhizome which creates very interesting detail. This is a surprisingly easy species to establish and should be on everyone’s list.

Updated shot of one of the 8x8” glass bricks with a couple of weeks growth. The tree top moss is starting to spread and the first plants are beginning new growth. Substrate is Frog Dirt ABG mix plus some finely crushed mixed leaf litter.

Leaf litter tea 😎 Leaf litter comes cleaned but we still like to sanitize by boiling for 5 minutes before use. We only offer a few types of leaves very purposefully. The varieties we offer are durable and long lasting so they hold up extremely well to this.

An incredibly delicate Hydrocotyle tripartita bloom tucked away in the propagation box. Honestly didn’t even know these could bloom. Such a cool surprise! This is a lovely little ground cover that does well in terrariums and vivariums. Fun fact is that is also an aquarium plant and can be grown fully submerged.
