π₯ Is ChatGPT Really Just "Bu****it"? π€―
"ChatGPT is Bu****it" by Michael Townsen Hicks, James Humphries, and Joe Slater is the paper the AI community has been waiting for! π
While the hype around large language models (LLMs) like ChatGPT is real, this paper dives into their intrinsic biases and limitations. ππ Spoiler alert: ChatGPT isnβt a thinking, conscious being. Itβs a sophisticated pattern recognizer that mimics human language based on its training data. If that data is biased, the output will be too. π€π¬
Hereβs the βοΈ: The term "AI hallucinations" is misleading. ChatGPT doesn't perceive reality, so it can't hallucinate. Instead, the authors argue these inaccuracies are better described as βbullsh*tβ, in the sense of being indifferent to the truth. π§ π
π‘ Key Insights:
ππ½ LLMs mainly produce "soft" bullsh*tβtext generated without concern for truthfulness.
ππ½ Misleading metaphors can lead to misguided applications and unrealistic expectations of AI.
π
π½While LLMs like ChatGPT have their uses, they can't replace human emotion, experience, knowledge, and perception. πβ€οΈ

Just attended a great presentation from for the Leading from Within series. It got me thinking.
Leadership is evolving, and inclusivity is leading the charge. Hereβs why:
π₯ True leadership harnesses the strength in diversity.
π₯ Inclusivity isnβt optional; itβs essential for innovation.
π₯ Different perspectives arenβt just welcomeβtheyβre non-negotiable for growth.
Leaders, ask yourselves: Are you igniting change or just maintaining the status quo?
POV: Been reading Cixous and Irigaray so feeling philosophical.
In the spaces between words, in the pause of conversation, we trace the outline of who we are. This revelation isn't just about finding oneself but actively shaping our existence with every word we choose to release into the world.
Language is not merely a tool for communication but a canvas for the self, where the act of speaking (internally too) is an act of creation.
Here, in the reflection of dialogue, we see not just who we are but who we aspire to be.
Every sentence, every chosen word is a step towards understanding and shaping our presence in the world.
There is power that resides in our voices, the ability to not only discover but to define and refine our very selves. Words have the capacity to not unveil but also to sculpt our very being.
Speak your truths, for in doing so, you paint the masterpiece of yourself/yourselves.

Yes, that's one of my favourite morning routines but did you know, as of 2023, there are 4.2 billion (!!) active voice assistant devices in use.
Voice search is seriously reshaping how we approach content creation. My experience of writing for a renowned virtual assistant, starting with the opposite of "Z," has provided me with invaluable insights into this exciting space. π€βοΈ
Here's how this experience has refined my skills for voice search optimization:
β
Understanding Natural Language: Crafting responses and content for a virtual assistant necessitates an intimate understanding of conversational language. This is crucial for voice search, where queries are more natural and spoken, unlike traditional typed searches (especially when google even gives you search examples).
β
Precision in Answering Queries: My experience has taught me the art of providing precise, concise answers, a key factor in optimizing content for voice search. Voice search algorithms prioritize direct, accurate responses to users' questions.
β
Contextual Awareness: Writing for a virtual assistant involves understanding context and intent. This translates into creating voice search-friendly content that accurately addresses the searcher's intent.
What This Means for Your Business:
π« Tailored Voice Search Strategy: Leveraging my experience, I can craft your content to be more voice search-friendly, ensuring higher visibility in this rapidly growing domain.
π« Engaging, Conversational Content: I bring the art of conversation into your content, making it engaging and natural β exactly what voice search algorithms and users love.
So? Are you ready to optimize your content for voice search?

Today, On National Day of Action for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls, an email I received posed the following questions:
1) What percentage of female homicide victims in Canada are Indigenous women and girls, despite Indigenous people comprising less than 5% of the overall population?
2) What % of human trafficking victims in Canada are Indigenous women and girls?
3) What percentage of Aboriginal women reported experiencing severe forms of family violence?
I did not know the answers. So I looked them up. I suspected it was significant but these numbers are appalling. Statistics Canada says: "While only 5% of the female population in Canada identified as Indigenous in 2021 (Statistics Canada, 2022), over the 11-year period of analysis ( i.e. , 2011 to 2021), police reported that 21% of all gender-related homicides involved Indigenous women and girls, amounting to 233 victims."
What can we do? As settlers on this land, the very least we can do is be an ally.
𧩠Stand with Indigenous women.
𧩠Help create safe communities.
𧩠Advocate for supports.

π Who really needs expertise? π
In the fast-paced and ever-changing world we live in, Ian Beacraft asks us to reflect on the true value of expertise. During a session at , he suggested we are in an era of expert generalists.
With the rapid-fire advancements of AI, we have the power to stack skills, level up ourselves, and be proficient in and across multiple domains.
This potential success can be driven by what Beacraft refers to as "passionate curiosity" and by nurturing our innate curiosity we can unlock the potential to become expert generalists so that we are more multi/transdisciplinary and flexible and agile.
Specifically for entrepreneurs: in a world that's constantly evolving, being an expert generalist can be a game-changer. The ability to (mostly) seamlessly navigate diverse domains, adapt to changing landscapes, and tap into a broader range of knowledge can set you apart in the competitive business ecosystem. Embracing this mindset can open doors to innovative ideas, unique problem-solving approaches, and unexpected collaborations that fuel your entrepreneurial success.
There will also be a space for expertise but maybe this can help bring more people to the table. What do you think?
