There are times where we find ourselves in a position where nothing seems to work when we turn the key; now what? You shouldn’t be boosting your battery if you don’t know how but if you do know how, there really is nothing in the way of doing so!
There are a couple of old sayings you may have heard, that help us remember the safe way to attach booster cables: “black to black, red to red” and “positive to positive, negative to negative”. The safest way to connect the cables, however, is positive to positive and negative to the ground (bare metal) of the engine block. The order in which we connect the boosting cables is very important to prevent any damage to the electrics, and to avoid personal injury!
