Quite the sunset today

The amazing view from Kinngait, Nunavut.

This photo was take at 12:55 PM.

That sun, low on the horizon, is hiding behind the mountain.

According to Veterans Affairs Canada, more than 3,000 First Nations, Métis and Inuit soldiers contributed to WWII.

Many Indigenous soldiers served as “code talkers”, using the Cree language to communicate and disrupt the enemy's ability to understand intercepted transmissions.

Indigenous people were significant contributors to the war effort, even before they were afforded the right to vote in Canada, which came in 1960.

Caribou hunting near Taloyoak, Nunavut.

George Totalik says it was a cold night in the tent ... "but not too bad."

He says he was there with his son and nephew.

No caribou on this trip, but good times!
