He’s the man behind our stunning collection of Grandmother and Grandfather dreamcatchers you can find in store, and a talented one at that. “ My name is Aaron J. Lee and I am from Maskwacis Alberta of the Ermineskin Cree Nation. 58 years old 36 years experience as an Artisan and I started selling my work during the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary at Olympic plaza during the medal ceremonies and light show.
I was one of 6 Alberta artisan's chosen to represent Alberta at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver. I served as Chairman of Kiyanaw First People's showcase at Capital Ex for 5 years.
I was one of 50 artist's who sent their work through Rumble house in Calgary an art auction house independently owned and operated via the Canadian Space agency and the Australian Space agency in a balloon to the Edge of Space 36 klms up. 48 were paintings 1 was a photograph and mine was a willow Dreamcatcher with Moonstone I call Grandmother's and Grandfather's.
I have been making the willow Dreamcatchers for about 12 years and Love the process of creating one of a kind works of Art.
I do a tobbaco offering and say a prayer before I harvest my willow and do that locally mostly around Whitemud creek here in Edmonton once I have enough I clean any branches I don't want and wrap them into hoops and take them home to cure them in the oven so I can work on the right after.
Each piece is an excercise in the Love for the unique form of the willow with the tension of the sinew being woven into my work. It's like doing a mantra each loop and crystal being woven into my work.
When I was sick and homeless in Calgary it was the Grandmother's and Grandfather's who took care of me so I have an appreciation and gratitude for them that no other can make a claim too.

Traditionally as a Treaty 6 Artisan I honor the willow who we always refer to as a Grandmother Spirit and the Crystals and gemstones we call Grandfather's.
It is my unige outlook on the significance of the mediums I use to create works of art from what nature puts here on Mother Earth. Each piece is consciously woven with Love and intention as a prayer for the Spider medicine to work it's magic of dream protection.
In 2017 I was struck by Lightning in a healing lodge a d 2 weeks later I was zapped by the energy of the Dreamcatcher that reached the sky. It changed me in a profound spiritual level and it is said that being struck by Lightning in Indigenous belief that one becomes a Sacred Clown or Heyoka.
We bring balance to the world and healing and are mirrors to others and often use humor to enlighten these around us.
With my work I have acquired spiritual tools that enhance the energy of my work and clean and clear the energy of the Stones and Willow and each step my dreamcatchers are placed on my healing tools to charge, clean, clear, amplify and enhance the Grandmother's and Grandfather's.
Each stone used, represents one or multiple chakras and the colours relate to them. The energy work I use, assists in opening them.
They are my gift to the people with the intention to help in the awakening process of the masses.
As a Heyoka I am grateful that my Grandmother's and Grandfather's connect with those who take them home and enjoy the simple beauty and balancing of energy's I put into them.
They are like a sweatlodge since the willow is used as the frame of the lodge and the Stones are heated and given water to create the steam for cleansing with the intention of cleansing the dreamscape of those who are attracted to each unique piece.
