Afternoon Brothers and Sisters, as many of you have noticed our website has been down for a couple of days now. The webhost has been contacted and they are supposed to be resolving the issue but seem to be taking forever. Hopefully it won’t be down much longer, sorry for the inconvenience.

**NOTICE OF SPECIAL CALL MEETING**

Please be advised that in compliance with the SMART Constitution and Ritual, Article Twelve (12) Section Six (6) of the SMART Constitution and Ritual, Local 8 will be holding a special called meeting for membership approval to use a mail in ballot for the 2024 Election of Officers and Trustees.
The meeting will be held during our regularly scheduled Membership meeting on March 19, 2024, at 7:00pm.

Registration is open for the annual local 8 Edmonton golf tournament taking place July 29th Members can contact the hall to register. Registration closes June 29th.

Just a quick update on the agreement, the contractors voted if favor so it will be taking affect on June 4th. Once we have the agreements up to date they will be available on the website.

We have the results of the ratification vote and both Sheeter and Sheet Metal where voted in flavor of the MOA. the contractors will be voting on Wednesday May 17. Once I receive the results from there vote I will let everyone know.

On Monday May 8, 2023 at 7:00 pm we will be presenting the preposed memorandum, this meeting we will go over the changes and answer any questions the Membership may have, also we will go over the voting instructions, as we are doing it electronically to help speed up the process.
The voting will be starting on Tuesday May 9th at 11:00 am and run until May 13th.

The company that does the tax slip made a mistake and the 2021 total ended up being put on the 2022 slips. This has been corrected but unfortunately it wasn't discovered until after they were mailed out.

We have remailed the slips with the correct amounts out which you should receive this week.
