Aromatherapy & breath work will be incorporated into the practice to guide you towards a meditative experience. Therapeutic Yoga uses yoga postures and breath control to honour and support the many physical challenges we are faced with in life. Whether that be due to recovering from an injury, recent surgery, or dealing with chronic pain. The Asanas are practiced in a way to enhance the rejuvenation process while deeply connecting with the self and the body as it heals.

This Therapeutic Yoga 6 week session is designed to give bodies the opportunity to restore, repair, and recover in an intimate and fully supported environment, receiving personal modifications and adjustments by one of our specially trained therapeutic yoga teachers. The use of Pranayama is at the centre of the healing and nourishment of the class.

We will adopt an attitude of ‘less is more’ and learn simple yet specific postures and movements that require just enough effort to strengthen and create stability to the areas of recovery, while cultivating kindness to leave room for the inner workings of our own wisdom body to begin to move into a state of healing.

These postures assist in not only rehabilitating the body, but also in nourishing and connecting the heart and the mind, which allows us to settle into a state of acceptance and allowance, adjusting our attitude towards our present condition and becoming self-invested in our own healing.

Chakras are important energy centres in the body.

In this experience of Yin Yoga, which is a practice of longer holds allowing one to dive into the connective tissues of the body (Fascia) , we will explore the seven main chakras.

This will be an opportunity for energy to move around, in the body and ultimately to find a sense of “letting go” in this practice. Through the mind, body and breath connection we can begin to find inner balance and unity in these energy centres.

Please come dressed in comfortable clothing, with a water bottle and your yoga mat.

The class will be taught in our 28 degree studio.

Class is Saturday July 27 at 4:30 pm and will be lead by Isabelle.
