Just A Dose of Love
Links to the Knittin' Kitten Podcast, Ravelry Designs Page, and More! The best way to do that is to just add a dose of love into everything that we make and do.
A Dose Of Love is founded on the belief that nothing is made or created without some passion - our passion is to make things that we love, and that we hope you love too!

After all that basement renovation fun, I've finally had some time to sit and work on my sweater project š„° this gorgeous pattern is by .and.pine.designs knit up in Hawthorne yarn, and I couldn't love this combo more!
It's finally done! After replacing a rug, flooring, painting everything, replacing all of the light fixtures, and painting *every* surface that is not a floor - my basement suite renovations are completed!
The story:
My basement suite tenant of almost 7 years moved out at the beginning of June š so I have been working like a crazy person to get things painted and ready for someone new (goal was July 1, but things didn't work out, for the best as everything has fallen into place for someone near and dear to my heart).
Since I've got some pretty sweet before and after photos, I'll be sharing these over the next week or so, as everything comes together!
Here is the kitchen and bathroom which both have been completely repainted, and have had the floor replaced. Huge thanks to from who helped pick out and set up the installation of the floor for, and a huge thanks to who reinstalled our basement toilet and fixed our cracked main drain stack!

Here is the bedroom which has been completely repainted, and the livingroom which is fully repainted and has a new rug, which helped pick out and set up the install for!
I wanted to post a few updates, since I know I've been pretty quiet lately!

Here is the first portion! I've been meaning to paint these stairs for YEARS! I even found some grit that can be added to paint to create a "non slip" surface - which is pretty sweet, in my opinion!
Knittinā Kitten Episode #45 is officially up on YouTube!

This gorgeous hat will be the next pattern to be released in the Goddess Pantheon Hat Collection! She is unnamed, at this current point in time, but expect a name soon!
If you are interested in testing this hat pattern, be on the lookout for a call for test knitters, starting tomorrow!
And now, the conclusion of the story of what went wrong with this sweater!
So, due to the shaping on the back of the neck on this sweater (which I adore), I wasn't able to just wear this sweater backwards.
Instead, what I did was cut the neck off āļø, reknit the collar, and kitchener stitch it to the body of the sweater!
Yeesh, what a surgery!! I should definitely have been more intimidated of that than I was š
However, it all worked out in the end!
I have a story about this project:
I was drawn in by the beautiful neck detailing, and fell in love with the short row shaping, high-low length on the bottom, and was SO excited when I bound off the bottom! Then, in horror, I realized that I had made the high side the BACK and not the front! š
What's a girl to do? Take back all of that work on the body of the sweater?
What do you think I did? š
I'll tell you tomorrow!
I finished this lovely sweater this weekend, and am so excited to share photos! Just look at the details on that neckline!
I was finally able to take some good photos of my finished Amphitrite hat today! This pattern is officially live on Ravelry and coming soon to Etsy!
The Amphitrite hat, named after the Greek Goddess, Queen of the Sea, wife of Poseidon, is made up of lovely eyelets created with yarn overs, paired with faux cables, and decreases to create the illusion of waves and fish tails on a purled background. The pattern works best with solid, solid with speckling, or tonal yarns as the stitch definition will be lost with more variegated colouring. The pattern has written instructions along with a chart that accompanies all parts of the hat, to suit whichever way you prefer to follow your knitting patterns. With a total of 9 different stitches utilized, this is a great pattern for the knitter who is looking for a pattern with the look of cables, but with no cable needle required!
The Amphitrite hat is worked brim-up in the round on double-pointed needles or a 40cm / 16ā circular needle.
Instructions are for a 112-stitch circumference brim, and the hat is knit in this order: Brim, Body, Crown.
Skills Required:
K - knit
P - purl
YO - yarn over
K2TOG - knit 2 together
KTBL - knit through back loop
SSK - slip, slip, knit
K3TOG - knit 3 together
SSSK - slip, slip, slip knit
S2KP - slip 2 together, knit, pass slipped stitches over
Note: Pattern includes written instructions on how to perform the stitches listed above.
My Amphitrite Hat is finally blocked and dry! More photos to follow over the next few days, but what a beautiful pattern š„°
A HUGE thank you to who was a test knitter for this pattern, and finished hers as well!
This hat pattern is set to release on April 10 - stay tuned for more photos and a coupon code for the release day!
