Not sure if you remember this beautiful quilt or not? We helped Judi choose fabric for this quilt. Scroll through to see Judi’s beautiful final version! It really is stunning!! it was long arm quilted by Teresa Jantzi. Great job ladies!! Always so nice to see someone’s finished project! There is no specific pattern for this quilt. Judi just used a 4 1/2 inch square to start with a 1 1/2 inch strip around it. This would make a perfect project for a young person off to college, as a wedding quilt, as a throw on the back of the couch or even a full-size bed quilt! Simply stunning.

Look at this adorable dress made by Rosey! This is created using some Jennifer Sampou fabric that Rosey bought at The Quilt Kitchen. Quilting cotton is so versatile! You can be very creative in so many different ways! Thank you for sharing your beautiful project with us! An inspiration for other creators.

Today starts a brand new chapter for me. I will be joining the team at Kirkton Bovine Services in St. Marys. This takes me back to both my agricultural and educational roots.
If any of you are ever in St. Marys, my hours are Monday through Thursday 9 AM until 2 PM, Friday 9 AM until 4 PM. I would love to meet you for coffee, ice cream, or a walk along the trail! Or we could even go fabric shopping at the two local quilt shops!

I had the best day today, catching up with so many familiar faces. Former customers, friends and ‘family’ members! So nice to see all of you out at the incredible show in Exeter. Congratulations to Diane and Anne on a very successful show. I heard so many incredible comments about the beautiful quilts, the gorgeous venue and also the delicious lunch.
For those of you who don’t know, the show has a lot of different quilts created by many people, but they were all quilted by Diane Carson! It truly is an impressive display of artistic talents. There is also an incredible merchant mall with so many talented people displaying their wares!! Also a lunchroom with all kinds of delicious items! One stop shopping!
The show continues tomorrow and Saturday. It is one you do not want to miss! ☕️

Look at this adorable quilt created by Heather Stewart! It is called Bunny Bunch by Elizabeth Hartman. What a perfect spring quilt, baby quilt or something just to brighten your day! Such a cute quilt! Who doesn’t love bunnies??

Look at this stunning jelly roll mat made by a customer of The Quilt Kitchen! This beautiful mat will be headed to Yellowknife. It fits someone’s kitchen island space perfectly. What a lucky recipient! This mat was created all from Kona cotton.

This sad, little forlorn look is exactly how I feel! Missing all of you. Just wanting to reach out and wish you all a very Happy Easter weekend. This adorable little quilt is called Funny Bunny by Meags and Me. The finished size of the quilt is 50“ x 60“. It incorporates, appliqué, hand embroidery, and traditional piecing. So cute and quirky it just can’t help but make you smile. Happy Easter everyone!

Happy Friday!!! Tomorrow is International Quilting Day!!! What is everyone doing to celebrate? I will be getting ready to teach a class in Understanding Colour! One of my very favourite subjects! I also think I will start planning a quilt of my own! It’s time to get sewing again! Happy International Quilting Day!

Wondering what to do with some of that sale fabric that you purchased from The Quilt Kitchen? Here is a great idea! This customer used some denim along with some cotton children’s prints to create adorable care quilts to donate to children with cancer. What an awesome use of denim… Upcycling at its finest! Plus, this is a very thoughtful and generous donation!

A Grateful So Long

This is a season of change at The Quilt Kitchen! Our beautiful fabric shelves were picked up yesterday. They have already found their new home and are happily filled with fabric at the new home of the Stitcharie in Petrolia. Thank you Laurie! Wishing you the absolute best as you begin this next chapter of success in your business!

So this happened at The Quilt Kitchen today! A sad day for me. The cutting counter was one of my favourite pieces of furniture. Grateful to the young fellows who were here disassembling and moving that huge piece of furniture. They were easy to deal with, and had a great sense of humour!!They also loaded up the fabric shelves and took them. Onward and upward! Special thanks to the people who purchased the fabric shelves and the cutting counter. They found good homes.
