Meet Ruby! A beautiful poodle who unfortunately was inside of her owner’s vehicle, when another driver rear ended them. As a result, Ruby has been dealing with concussion symptoms, nausea, vomiting and change in overall behaviour for one year. This was the difference in the appearance of her eyes after only ONE OSTEOPATHIC TREATMENT. We focused on cranial therapy, a spinal tension release (whiplash relief), a diaphragm tension release and vagus nerve releases to help minimize all her symptoms.
Here’s an additional tip on what you can do to help reduce your acid reflux AT HOME!

How Osteopathy Can Help Dogs
Osteopathy is a form of manual therapy that can benefit dogs in a variety of ways, from pain relief to improved mobility. Osteopathy is a holistic approach to health and healing, focusing on the connection between the body’s structure and its function. Osteopaths use a hands-on approach to assess and treat the musculoskeletal system, aiming to restore balance and harmony within the body.
Osteopathy can be used to help treat a range of conditions in dogs, from arthritis to hip dysplasia. One of the main benefits of osteopathy for dogs is pain relief. Osteopaths can identify areas of tension and tightness, and use gentle massage techniques to relieve pain and discomfort. Osteopathy can also help to improve range of motion and flexibility, by releasing contracted and restricted muscles. This can help dogs who are suffering from conditions such as arthritis, which can cause stiffness and reduced mobility. Osteopathy can also be beneficial for dogs who have suffered an injury.
Osteopaths can help to reduce swelling and inflammation, and can assist in the healing process. Osteopathy can also be used to help prevent further injury by restoring balance to the body and encouraging correct posture. This can be especially beneficial for working and sporting dogs, who are more prone to injury due to the demands of their activities. As well as being beneficial for treating existing conditions and injuries, osteopathy can also be used to help improve overall health and wellbeing.
Osteopathy is a safe and effective treatment for dogs. Osteopaths use a range of gentle techniques and exercises to assess and treat the body, with the aim of restoring balance and harmony. Osteopathy can be used to help treat existing conditions, as well as to help prevent further injury and improve overall health and wellbeing. Osteopathy can be a valuable addition to any dog’s healthcare regime, offering a vast range of benefits.

Diaphragm breathing is an important aspect of the body mechanics. The thoracic diaphragm muscle can impact the whole body if it is not utilized properly.
In this easy to follow along exercise video, Nichelle guides you through the step-by-step process of how to activate your diaphragm again. Knowing how to breathe probably can be the difference between getting the full benefit, or not, out of a stretch or exercise you were trying to perform.
In fact, if you cannot breathe properly, no matter how much you try, your body can maintain in such a protective state, that it won’t allow you to complete a movement/stretch. That’s why learning how to breathe properly is very important.
It is recommended that you complete this video 2 to 7 times for a week depending on what stage of rehabilitation you are.

When it comes to sinus pressure and sinus headaches, knowing how to release your own sinuses can be very useful skill, especially if you are not a fan of taking medication when it could otherwise be avoided.
In this easy to follow along video, Nichelle demonstrates how to reduce pressure in your own sinuses with a systematic approach that also finishes off with lymph drainage techniques as added bonus material.
It is recommended to do this video as needed. Depending on how much pressure is residing in the cavities, each technique may require you to hold the position longer in order for the release to occur. It is recommended that you book an assessment with your local Manual Osteopath in order to correct any misalignment that may be contributing to your sinus pressure/headaches.
Acid Reflux can be very painful and uncomfortable to experience. Most people who suffer from Acid Reflux typically report a “burning” sensation under their breast bone (sternum) and up into their throat. This is usually due to a hiatal hernia- which is where the top sphincter of the stomach is pulled above the diaphragm muscle.
In this easy to follow along YouTube video, Nichelle guides you through a variety of techniques can perform on yourself to help reduce your Acid Reflux at home!
**Post Scuba Diving Thoughts** —> DON’T PLAY DEFENSE!
In life, many of us tend to live life trying to avoid things: we try to AVOID getting sick, AVOID getting injured, AVOID getting hurt emotionally, AVOID our true needs, AVOID…. you get the idea…
But instead, we should focus our energy on trying to achieve health, happiness from within, wealth, balance, physical fitness, self care, mindfulness… the list goes on. That way you are taking your mind off of a reactionary response to a proactive and offensive response.
Remember, you can’t win a game only playing defense!
