Why 7 Arts?
Art is important to us all. The act of making art and being creative offers many health benefits to an individual. That is why it was important to me to make art and creative activities accessible to all ages and capabilities. In 2018, I was lucky enough to find 5 like-minded people. They joined me to create this community space to explore & experience ART. We did have a hard time narrowing down which arts to focus on and so, ‘7 Arts’ was born!
First, a Thank-You to those 5 individuals for believing in me & in my DREAM. Thank you Stephanie De-Genova, Tom Juby, Tanya Cheeke, Melanie Abrahams and Michelynn Touesnard. Secondly, I want to thank all the volunteers, Artists and community partners for supporting this project (full list on our website and in our building). I couldn’t have gotten so far so fast without your positive attitudes and hard work. A million Thank Yous would not be enough to express my gratitude and appreciation to each and everyone of you.
In a nut shell. We have built a space that is welcoming, accepting and friendly. We have accessible bathrooms and parking. We have a space filled with creative supplies generously donated by community members. Did you ever want to try; Painting, Drawing, Photography, Writing, Music, Designing & Crafts of all kind? Then you probably want to check us out and see what is happening. Try anything and everything. We are a community art space with 20+ volunteers & we have new Artists joining us every month.
What is N.O.V.A. Club? A group of Artists that work together and a part to support each other and socialize. I am an artist and when I was new to the area I missed having a social group of other creative people. I know we need to support our local talent and finally, I decided to do it. I came up with New Opportunities for Valley Artists Club because I wanted to encourage cooperation, collaboration and not competition. We share tips and often teach each other new methods and techniques. There is an Annual Fee which helps pay for new supplies, promotion of Artist Events and keeping the space open. We are currently developing a professional gallery space for exhibits and in the fall we hope to tackle a working studio for the Club. Send us an email if you have any questions.
